KAYAKING.

Day 25 – Another gorgeous day. Most of the campers here left this morning. SO glad we’re retired! We do remember the days of having to pack up & head home for work the next day. And when the weather is as perfect as it was today, you really don’t want to leave. We hung out until 10:45 a.m., then headed to Echo Lake. Only a couple of people were out, fishing. We covered ourselves with bug spray and were in the water by 11 a.m.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CATHIE! WE HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL YEAR, AND WE’RE PRETTY SURE YOU WILL!

HAPPY TRAILS TO RON/SOPHIE/MAPLE. ENJOY YOUR VACATION!

Day 23 – More people began arriving yesterday afternoon/evening. The campground got busier. It was 43 degrees out when we got up, cloudy; we could see the bugs flying around outside. I, personally, will be glad when bug season is over.

TRAVEL DAY: OUR LAND, TRESCOTT, MAINE TO PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE.

Day 21 – It was a hot, sweaty night. I kept getting up and turning the A/C up; more cold air, please. The rain started around 2 a.m. complete with thunderstorms & lightning over the Harbor. This morning at 7 a.m. it had just stopped raining. We left at 9:35 a.m. It was 75 degrees and VERY humid. Lots of bugs!

Day 81 – September, really?! Time flies. We were up by 7 a.m.  Sunny & 52 degrees. It did not reach the low 40’s like it had been predicted, neither last night nor the night before. But we’re sure that’s coming. Tying up loose ends from August, we checked yesterday to make sure our Absentee Ballots had been mailed to us for the NYS Primary, and we checked with our medical insurances & Social Security/Medicare to make sure the issue regarding our home vs. mailing addresses had been satisfactorily taken care of. It appears things are on the right track again. Life’s little aggravations.

Day 79 – We were surprised that they were still having weather in the 90’s at home in NY. Seems like this was a pretty hot summer there; glad we missed most of it. We shall stop complaining about the humidity here! Rob was up at 6:00 a.m., and I was up at 7. The girls have definitely figured out who to pounce on in the morning when they want breakfast.  58 degrees, cloudy & breezy.

Day 78 – We were up by 7:20 a.m., 65 degrees, sunny.  Today was the dreaded Laundry Day. After coffee & the necessities, we drove to Presque Isle to Kellie’s Laundromat. Okay, so this may sound crazy, but if you ever need to do laundry & you are near Presquc Isle, Maine, this is the place to go. You never know about laundromats; some can be quite sleezy, but this place was so clean that you could eat off the countertops (but we chose not to). Lots of perfectly working washing machines & dryers to choose from, all spotless & reasonably-priced, and of different sizes. Okay, Laundromat Review done, we returned to the RV at noon. Beautiful out.
