HEAVY RAIN.
Day 322 – It rained hard all night and this morning. Getting muddier around here. The playground remains empty; it’s been quiet. We went into Prince George this morning and took care of lots of errands and stocking up. On September 1st when we enter Alberta and the National Parks, we aren’t sure about the availability of supplies. We’ll be staying in three different National Park campgrounds for ten nights each. Limited hook-ups; just getting prepared.

Day 321 – It rained all last night and today. Many of the campers left and only a few came into the campground to take their place. The playground was quiet. We doubt if the Lake had much activity either. We made a big batch of Garlic Bread to freeze and pull out pieces when we need them; the RV smelled so good from the baking bread. The girls have their heated pads plugged in again, since the weather has cooled off. They are very happy. We did a lot of reading and relaxing. Tomorrow we have to drive to Prince George and take advantage of a city large enough to have all kinds of stores. Do some stocking up, and Rob will be picking up a new fuel pump and a few other parts for the generator. It briefly reached 60 degrees today, mostly in the 50’s and cold with the rain. The blog posts are piling up again.

Day 320 – Only a couple more destinations for camping before we reach Jasper National Park in Alberta. Chugging along, we departed Beaumont Provincial Park after dumping tanks at 10:10 a.m. It was 58 degrees, cloudy and windy. Definitely cooling off here!
BYE BYE HEAT WAVE.
Day 319 – It was much cooler today. The heat wave is over. Many of the campers that came in yesterday left this morning – guess it was just a stopover for them. We have no one around us now.

Day 318 – It was 61 degrees and sunny when we got up at 7:15 a.m. By the time we left, most campers had cleared out, leaving the weekend travelers to fill up the campground again. We dumped tanks, then departed at 10:20 a.m.
AND ANOTHER.
Day 317 – It was supposed to be another hot day, so we got our cooking out of the way early. We’ve been having problems with our RV generator, so we can’t count on being able to use the air conditioning to cool it inside. We have to say: the girls are funny when they’re too warm. Usually the floor (sheet vinyl flooring) is not where they go to relax. It’s their heated pads and the dashboard where they luxuriate. But with us having to deal with the hotter weather and a generator that only works sometimes, we occasionally walk into a room and find them spread-eagled on the floor, belly up. And of course, anyone who has a furry critter in their house knows that one CANNOT resist a belly up!

Day 316 – We spent most of the morning when it was cooler in the screened tent. After lunch we went into Smithers to run a few minor errands, explored the town a little, enjoyed the A/C in the car, and came back to the RV to relax some more. A tough day but someone had to do it. Grin!

Day 315 – Hitting the road again today and looking forward to it. This drive across British Columbia is really exciting because we have no idea what to expect. For example, these really tall, jagged-peaked mountains – we didn’t expect to see this until closer to the Canadian Rockies, nor did we expect to be in such an unpopulated area. With scenery this beautiful, you’d think it would be settled, but there are so few towns and communities.
NOT DOING MUCH MORE.
Day 314 – It’s supposed to be 89 degrees here today. We were moving around as little as possible – my favorite kind of day, LOL. At least there was a good breeze; we spent the afternoon in the tent.

Day 313 – Since we’re now more inland and away from the Ocean breezes, it’s warmer out. They are experiencing a heat dome here and have about a week of high heat warnings. I don’t know what their normal temperatures are, so I imagine it’s been much worse elsewhere. Still, we’ve had a nice, cool summer so it’s a surprise to be hot. It was supposed to be 88 degrees today. We don’t have an official temperature, but we think it wasn’t that warm. Still, we spent much of the day in the screened tent.
