HAPPY VACATION, CAROL & TED! FINALLY, EH?

Day 103 – It rained last night and was rainy & foggy this morning. Rob did not go to the Cliff Site. Cloudy & breezy throughout the day, the high was 68 degrees. In the afternoon Rob went outside to do some more work on cleaning up the dead trees. Then he took a picture of a different kind of mushroom that has come up recently.

GOOD LUCK, MICHAEL S. HOPE ALL WENT WELL!

Day 100 – At the cliff this morning Rob took pictures of, guess what? More mushrooms. It was 66 degrees and sunny. When he came back to the RV, and after relaxing a little, he went outside and waxed a section of the RV, the next step after washing it which he did a couple of days ago. He’s found that waxing it in sections is a lot easier than doing it all at once.

CHANGEABLE WEATHER.

Day 97 – The waves were still pounding away here, but after last night’s rain, the storm seems to have passed over us. Rob went out to the cliff and there was some bird activity since it was low tide. When he came back to the RV, he soon went to work and spent the morning washing the RV. It’s hard work, it’s big, and he was soaked when he came in for lunch.

A SLOW DAY.

Day 96 – The waves were really loud last night. It rained all night, and this morning we were in dense fog with a little rain throughout the morning. Rob didn’t go out to the cliff. It does seem like the storm has fizzled out a bit & may not be a problem here. We’ll see.

We were inside all day until later in the afternoon when we visited a neighbor. She’d invited us over for a catch-up visit. She bought her land a little before we bought ours. She had a cottage built and had us over for dinner years ago, but we hadn’t seen her much because she was never here when we were here. We had a good visit and caught up on years of activity on both our parts. Thank you, Maureen. Good seeing you!

The rain is supposed to pick up tonight but should end tomorrow. Hurricane Henri was downgraded to a Tropical Storm earlier. We don’t think it will do damage here, which is good since we really didn’t want to leave to head north and inland to get away from the winds.

KAYAKING IN THE HARBOR.

Day 95 – It started out foggy & humid, but when the fog lifted and the sun came out, we hurried to Smith Beach – the place on this peninsula that people use to launch kayaks. We had a wonderful paddle. It was almost high tide when we started out with rolling surf & very little wind. The Beach is near the mouth of the Harbor. We rode the small waves into the Harbor with the tide, which made it an easy paddle.
