GOOD LUCK, MICHAEL S. HOPE ALL WENT WELL!
Day 100 – At the cliff this morning Rob took pictures of, guess what? More mushrooms. It was 66 degrees and sunny. When he came back to the RV, and after relaxing a little, he went outside and waxed a section of the RV, the next step after washing it which he did a couple of days ago. He’s found that waxing it in sections is a lot easier than doing it all at once.

Below are a couple of pictures of an orange mushroom which Rob first photographed day before yesterday. He is tracking it’s growth through pictures. The bigger one is from today.

We drove to Machias, about 40 minutes from here, to go to Machias Marketplace, the farmer’s market. We got beautiful fresh cauliflower, some tomatoes, lettuce, red onion, and other goods. Then we went to the regular grocery store for other supplies. We are now wearing masks whenever we go indoors away from the RV. Until we can get a booster shot, it seems to be the safest thing for us to do.
After shopping we stopped at our favorite takeout place, Riverside Take-out. (This is the place we’ve gone by several times but they weren’t open.) We finally timed it right and saw our friends, Mark & Frank, and got the wonderful Lobster Rolls we’ve been searching for our entire trip to the land. They’ve revamped their menu and reduced the days/hours they are open. They said they were so busy last year (COVID) because they were the only place in town that was open, that they were working themselves crazy, having to get to the restaurant at 4:30 a.m. to begin food prep every day in order to prepare for the mad rush. They said being busy was good rather than not having work at all, but it was killing them, so this year they reduced the menu items to ones that would require less prep, and the reduction in days & hours allowed them to get their lives back. You wouldn’t believe how much better they looked; how much healthier! After a great visit, we headed back to the RV, put up the groceries and had our Lobster Rolls. They were worth the wait!

After lunch Rob went back out and did another section of waxing the RV. I finished the food part of the planning for our next long trip. A couple more days and I’ll be finished, and I’ll be ready to order everything we’ll need for the trip so that things will start arriving soon after we get home. We’re doing what we can in advance so we can head out as quickly as possible and not be held up waiting for orders to arrive.
We had a visit yesterday from a neighbor, Jack. He left a note that he’d dropped by when we were out buying crab. After we finished our chores, we visited him at his cottage. Neither of us had been inside the cottage before, so we got the grand tour. It’s a log cabin about 50 years old and it is fantastic. With views of the open Atlantic Ocean from the back of the cottage, and the Harbor from the side, a deck that wraps partially around and overlooks the water on both sides, and the original wood throughout, plus the updates he continually makes, this is a wonderful cottage! We had a great visit. Thank you, Jack!
Returning to the RV, we went out to the screened tent with our wine & beer. It was nice out, and today was a good day. The high was 77 degrees, sunny and breezy.
what a perfect day!!!
