THE FURNACE, CAMPGROUNDS, OCEAN, FORESTS, & A WINERY….OH MY.

Day 78 – Beginning of Week 12. The rain continued thru the night. Rob got up at 5:30 a.m. to deal with the furnace problem at home – yes, that’s right, it stopped working again yesterday afternoon. With the time difference between the east & west coasts, he needed to get in contact with the energy company early. At least we don’t have to drive an hour round-trip to get a signal! They’ll be coming out to the house again today, a technician & someone to evaluate us for new equipment. We have oil right now.  Do we stay with that, or maybe switch to propane? It’d stopped raining & was 40 degrees when I got up at 7:30.

Day 75 – We were up at 7:30 a.m., 55 degrees, partly cloudy. We have an internet & phone connection, fancy that. After two weeks of very little, if any, connections we had lots of catching up to do. It’s open enrollment time for benefits for both of us, we needed to set up  general delivery for our mail that’s accumulated in our box at the mail service place, we needed to order a few items from Amazon & find a place where we could have them delivered, and the blog needed to be finalized & published. We were way behind with catching up on e-mail & texts, and we needed to find a Honda dealership so that we could buy some brake fluid. Busy day ahead. We’d been able to slack off with no connections & now we were paying for it.

HAPPY  THANKSGIVING,  EVERYONE!

Day 74 – It rained some last night, leaving the ground pretty muddy. We were up by 7:45 a.m. & it was 55 degrees out & foggy. Took long showers & Rob dumped the tanks a final time. The people parked right across from us will be glad we’re gone – they’d parked a bit too close for comfort & we could both look directly into each other’s RV’s. They were a nice, older couple with an older dog they obviously adored. Any time we’d go outside, one of them would start up a long conversation. They were from Sacramento, CA & loved to travel around for shorter weekend trips in their trailer. The man seemed starved for male talk; he always came out to talk about trucks & RV parts & other manly things, LOL. The woman, thank goodness, didn’t want to talk about cooking all the time. We continued packing up & getting ready to go, with Rob being interrupted continuously as he worked outside.
