Day 79 – 38 degrees this morning at 7:30 a.m. Brrrrr. We hung around the RV until after lunch. The kitties enjoyed that & we had things to do. Like dealing with this furnace issue at home.

THE FURNACE, CAMPGROUNDS, OCEAN, FORESTS, & A WINERY….OH MY.
Day 78 – Beginning of Week 12. The rain continued thru the night. Rob got up at 5:30 a.m. to deal with the furnace problem at home – yes, that’s right, it stopped working again yesterday afternoon. With the time difference between the east & west coasts, he needed to get in contact with the energy company early. At least we don’t have to drive an hour round-trip to get a signal! They’ll be coming out to the house again today, a technician & someone to evaluate us for new equipment. We have oil right now. Do we stay with that, or maybe switch to propane? It’d stopped raining & was 40 degrees when I got up at 7:30.

Day 77 – The very rambunctious cats woke us up this morning, leaping on us from various places in the bedroom. 7:30 a.m., 59 degrees, raining. It rained most of the night; I’d left the roof vent in the bathroom wide open & the whole bathroom was quite wet. Ooops.

Day 76 – We were up and out by 10 a.m. Gonna explore east of Highway 101 via backroads. 55 degrees at 7:30 a.m., partly cloudy. We headed north on a road towards Redwood Valley, part of the sprawl above Ukiah.

Day 75 – We were up at 7:30 a.m., 55 degrees, partly cloudy. We have an internet & phone connection, fancy that. After two weeks of very little, if any, connections we had lots of catching up to do. It’s open enrollment time for benefits for both of us, we needed to set up general delivery for our mail that’s accumulated in our box at the mail service place, we needed to order a few items from Amazon & find a place where we could have them delivered, and the blog needed to be finalized & published. We were way behind with catching up on e-mail & texts, and we needed to find a Honda dealership so that we could buy some brake fluid. Busy day ahead. We’d been able to slack off with no connections & now we were paying for it.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!
Day 74 – It rained some last night, leaving the ground pretty muddy. We were up by 7:45 a.m. & it was 55 degrees out & foggy. Took long showers & Rob dumped the tanks a final time. The people parked right across from us will be glad we’re gone – they’d parked a bit too close for comfort & we could both look directly into each other’s RV’s. They were a nice, older couple with an older dog they obviously adored. Any time we’d go outside, one of them would start up a long conversation. They were from Sacramento, CA & loved to travel around for shorter weekend trips in their trailer. The man seemed starved for male talk; he always came out to talk about trucks & RV parts & other manly things, LOL. The woman, thank goodness, didn’t want to talk about cooking all the time. We continued packing up & getting ready to go, with Rob being interrupted continuously as he worked outside.

Day 73 – Woke up to heavy fog, not raining though, and 54 degrees. After yesterday’s busy time when people arrived to camp here, no one else came in. There’s a decent amount of noise from the highway & the gas station near us on the 101, but this campground works well for a two-night stopover.

Day 72 – It rained through the night. We never did take the walk to the ranger station yesterday afternoon; it was raining so hard that we didn’t want to go out & get soaking wet. This morning at 8 a.m. it was 55 degrees & cloudy, quite humid. A good day to change campgrounds, although we sure hate to do so.

Day 71 – Beginning of Week 11. It rained all night and continued throughout the day, upper 50’s. It was actually 50 degrees when we got up at 7:30 a.m. We hadn’t ventured outside even once by 3:30 p.m. The girls were enjoying themselves on their heated pads as the rain pitter-pattered on the roof of the RV.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN.
Day 70 – Cold last night, 35 degrees & clear when we got up at 7:45 a.m. We got ready quickly & packed a lunch. Headed out with our hot coffee, anticipating a long day ahead. Lots of back roads to travel – never know what you’ll find. Oh boy!
