TRAVEL DAY: FREEPORT, MAINE TO BERNARDSTON, MASSACHUSETTS.

Day 122 – After hearing the cows released into their fields this morning, we reluctantly got ready to leave. We were up by 6:30 a.m. It was 61 degrees, cloudy and humid with a few drizzles of rain. We departed at 8:55 after dumping tanks, 66 degrees, humid, and still sprinkling.

WAITING FOR THE COWS TO COME HOME.

Day 121 – It turned out that we didn’t have a decent internet connection at Wolfe’s Neck Farm, so we are sending yesterday’s blog out today (Saturday) upon arrival at the next campground. Meanwhile, we spent the morning and early evening waiting for the cows to be led out to the fields and waiting for them to come home for dinner. The moo-ing as they shuffle by can be heard throughout the area. And little kids line up to watch the procession with excitement every time.

TRAVEL DAY: BELFAST, MAINE TO FREEPORT, MAINE.

Day 120 – We were up at 6:45 a.m. this morning after a night of rain and thunderstorms. It was 61 degrees and cloudy, still with a little rain. Very humid out. We are driving today from Belfast to Freeport, a short drive and one that allows for relaxation before and after the drive.

TRAVEL DAY: TRESCOTT, MAINE TO BELFAST, MAINE.

Day 118 – We got up at 6:30 a.m. It was 54 degrees and sunny. Rob went to the cliff for the final time this season. After a little relaxing coffee time, we packed up the final items. We were sad to say good-bye one last time to our land. We pulled the RV and tow car out to the road where it was level, hooked up the Honda to the RV, and locked the “gates” Rob made on the entrances to the land. He did a great job.

A FAREWELL.

Day 117 – It was a gorgeous day, although it did rain a little while Rob was sitting out at the cliff with his coffee. Later though, the high was 71 degrees with full sun. We spent much of the day getting ready to leave. We went into town to the post office to have them stop our mail delivery, and also checked one last time to see if any Scallops had come in. No. Just one more thing we will miss. Here is another – a picture taken later this afternoon.

20 YEARS AGO TODAY – WHO WILL FORGET THAT DATE.

Day 115 – It was crisp, cold, and sunny this morning, and a perfect day for an outdoor meeting. We left the RV at 9:30 a.m. We had good attendance in person, and online – Zoom mostly worked with a few issues! It eventually warmed up to close to 70 degrees with a gentle breeze and full sun. And we were on a cliff overlooking the rocky coast of Maine with Grand Manan Island as a distant backdrop.

ZOOM, DINNER, & RAIN.

Day 114 – It rained all night and was pouring this morning when we got up. No coffee at the ManCliff for Rob! We’re sure the birds are hunkered down, too. Tomorrow is the annual meeting of residents & landowners of property on the road here. Rob is a member of the Board, the Secretary, and he’s been doing extra work this year. Because there are lots of items up for discussion and several Board & Trustee positions are also up for reelection, there is more interest than usual this year. It’s such a distance for many people to travel, therefore most people are often unavailable to physically attend these meetings each year. This year, we are hoping to present the meeting via Zoom for those who cannot attend, in addition to holding the in-person meeting. Rob is helping to facilitate the Zoom call.
