A BOAT TOUR, ANCIENT ROCKS, AND A FULL HARD DRIVE.
Day 132 – Today was the perfect weather for a day by the sea. We awoke to sunny, clear skies. When we left the RV at 8:20 a.m., it was 60 degrees with almost no wind. We drove to St. Lunaire, got gas in the Honda, and arrived at Dark Tickle Expeditions a little early.
VIKING COUNTRY.
Day 131 – It continued raining all night and it was very windy. This morning when we got up the rain & wind had calmed down a bit. We decided to hope for the best and went for a drive to another northern point on the peninsula – L’Anse aux Meadows, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was here that Vikings, led by Leif Erickson, founded the first European settlement in North America a thousand years ago.
A STAY-AT-HOME KIND OF DAY.
Day 130 – It rained last night and all of today, and the wind gusts increased. The low temperature last night was 55 degrees. The high today was 59 degrees. The rain and wind continued. We didn’t go anywhere. When you stay home all day like this, you find out just how lazy your kitties are!
We, too, were lazy. We caught up on a few things, cooked up some Salmon & Brown Rice for dinners so that we wouldn’t have to do anything else but add Vegetables, and generally didn’t do much else. We played a few rounds of Sequence before dinner, and that was about it. There aren’t many people camping here anymore. Tomorrow is another day.

Day 129 – When we got up this morning, it was 52 degrees and cloudy. The weather forecast was for some sun in the morning and rain later in the day. We decided to head out and grab the decent weather while we could. It’s supposed to rain for the next couple of days.

To:Pistolet Bay Provincial Park, Raleigh, NL.
Day 128 – The low temperature last night was 50 degrees. Today we are heading to a week near the northernmost part of Newfoundland. REALLY far up there! Pistolet Bay Provincial Park, where we’ll be staying for a week, is just 20 kilometers from the most northern point in Newfoundland.

Day 127 – The low temperature last night was 52 degrees. When we got up this morning, it was cloudy and windy, making it feeI blustery and much colder outside. It rained on & off. We’re glad we did all our scenic driving previously.

Day 126 – The low temperature last night was 50 degrees, getting colder already. It was cloudy this morning and it may rain this afternoon, so we went out to visit the last of the remote villages in this area: Conche, Northeast and Southwest Crouse.

Day 125 – This morning it was 56 degrees when we got up and cloudy. It was supposed to rain, but the sun came out. You never know! The wind picked up in the afternoon and the sky darkened. Now they are saying no rain. You REALLY never know!

Day 124 – The threat of rain remained for this afternoon, so we went out for a drive this morning. It was 61 degrees at 7 a.m., very cloudy with no wind. The girls have settled in here and they are happy with the campground. There are still no other campers here, no barking dogs or ATVs roaring around, so they are maintaining their normal schedules of eating, sleeping, eating, sleeping, eating, sleeping, playing, and sleeping.

Day 123 – Wow, last night we each had a Sticky Bun from The Bakery in Port au Choix. They were incredible, and the reviews were spot on. We checked our calendar to find out if we’d next be in Port au Choix on a Saturday – and we will! Oh boy! Grin.
