BAKED GOODS, ROUGH ROAD, AND MOOSE.

TRAVEL DAY

From: Oceanside RV Park, Port au Choix, NL.

To:Armistice Town Park, Roddickton/Bide Arm, NL.

Day 122 – At 7:15 a.m. this morning, it was 62 degrees and raining. It had started raining in the middle of the night. The wind had picked up, too. We began packing up to leave, but took a break from that to go into town to The Bakery, which had gotten rave reviews but was only open on Saturdays.

OUT AND ABOUT.

Day 120 – This morning it was 63 degrees when we got up, the same as yesterday’s high temperature. It was very cloudy – it’s not supposed to rain today, but honestly, they rarely get the weather forecast right. Depending on the weather later, we’ll stay around Port au Choix or go for a drive south.

SENDING POSITIVE THOUGHTS YOUR WAY, GAIL!

TRAVEL DAY

From: Gateway to the North RV Park, Deer Lake, NL.

To:Oceanside RV Park, Port au Choix, NL.

Day 118 – It rained during the night and continued raining all day today. When we got up, it was 57 degrees with no wind. We packed up and got ready to go to our next destination. Right before we leave in the RV, Rob hooks the Honda up to the RV to be towed behind us, while I wait in the driver’s seat of the RV for him to give me a sign that he is ready to check all the lights. Today he came back inside to say that there was a problem with the power to the brake unit. No power means we cannot safely tow the vehicle.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIN! ENJOY YOUR DAY!

THE NEWFOUNDLAND INSECTARIUM.

WE’RE THINKING OF YOU, GAIL. GOOD LUCK!

Day 117 – It was 55 degrees this morning. The rain started around lunchtime. In the morning we went into Deer Lake for some errands: gas in the Honda, propane refill for the portable RV tank, post office, and groceries. Then we cooked up a large batch of Thai Peanut Sauce to be served over Pasta with Scallops.

GETTING CLOSER TO THE GREAT NORTHERN PENINSULA.

TRAVEL DAY

From: Island Cove Town Park, La Scie, NL.

To:Gateway to the North RV Park, Deer Lake, NL.

Day 116 – We never did get rain and thunderstorms last night, but the wind has been gusting strongly. Luckily it was the windiest in La Scie at the campground on the hill without a lot of protection from the trees. It was 62 degrees this morning at 7 a.m. and beautiful out with fluffy white clouds and lots of sunlight.
