Day 117 – It was 55 degrees this morning. The rain started around lunchtime. In the morning we went into Deer Lake for some errands: gas in the Honda, propane refill for the portable RV tank, post office, and groceries. Then we cooked up a large batch of Thai Peanut Sauce to be served over Pasta with Scallops.
After lunch in the RV we went to the Newfoundland Insectarium & Butterfly Garden. The place was very busy due to the rain, and people were keeping their kids occupied with indoor activities. The Insectarium is located very close to the campground. We didn’t stay more than two hours since it was so crowded.

Tomorrow morning we will be leaving for over a month traveling around the Great Northern Peninsula. We will pass through Gros Morne National Park, one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been to. It’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow, but we hope we can get some good pictures as we drive by on the way to our first Northern Peninsula destination, historic Port au Choix.
