STRONG WINDS.

Day 137 – It was 63 degrees this morning when we got up. The wind gusts remained strong thru the night. Because of the winds, the car and RV windows appear fogged up all the time. They’re not – it’s the salt water coating everything with sea spray. The winds increased this morning and it wasn’t even comfortable to leave the RV, it was blowing so strongly. The RV was doing a bit of rocking. Supposedly the winds will decrease tonight.

OUT AND ABOUT.

Day 120 – This morning it was 63 degrees when we got up, the same as yesterday’s high temperature. It was very cloudy – it’s not supposed to rain today, but honestly, they rarely get the weather forecast right. Depending on the weather later, we’ll stay around Port au Choix or go for a drive south.

SENDING POSITIVE THOUGHTS YOUR WAY, GAIL!

TRAVEL DAY

From: Gateway to the North RV Park, Deer Lake, NL.

To:Oceanside RV Park, Port au Choix, NL.

Day 118 – It rained during the night and continued raining all day today. When we got up, it was 57 degrees with no wind. We packed up and got ready to go to our next destination. Right before we leave in the RV, Rob hooks the Honda up to the RV to be towed behind us, while I wait in the driver’s seat of the RV for him to give me a sign that he is ready to check all the lights. Today he came back inside to say that there was a problem with the power to the brake unit. No power means we cannot safely tow the vehicle.

NEWFOUNDLAND – PORT AU CHOIX & A SURPRISE.

Day 120 – The wind was super strong last night, a bit scary. We are so glad we decided not to travel today, either by ferry or RV. The wind continued, along with heavy dark clouds, for most of the day. It was only 47 degrees at 7 a.m. this morning, and with the wind it felt much colder. We turned the heat on in the RV – in August!  Rob ventured out once in the morning, briefly, to try to get pictures of the Eider Ducks. He came back with a picture of a Tern, and he’d gotten pretty cold just in that amount of time.
