DOING NOTHING.
Day 313 – Since we’re now more inland and away from the Ocean breezes, it’s warmer out. They are experiencing a heat dome here and have about a week of high heat warnings. I don’t know what their normal temperatures are, so I imagine it’s been much worse elsewhere. Still, we’ve had a nice, cool summer so it’s a surprise to be hot. It was supposed to be 88 degrees today. We don’t have an official temperature, but we think it wasn’t that warm. Still, we spent much of the day in the screened tent.
We’re spending our time unwinding a bit. Even though we’ve been busy doing fun things, it really does feel good to do basically nothing and not go anywhere. We have no signal except early in the morning. Blog posts will be sporadic. The campground has been quiet except for when a long line (30 to 50) motorcycles roared by headed for the day use area beyond the campground – and later roared back out again. It is the weekend, but we’ve seen and heard very few people; maybe it’s the heat. The Creek continues to soothe as it rushes by to the River.
