HEAVY RAIN.
Day 322 – It rained hard all night and this morning. Getting muddier around here. The playground remains empty; it’s been quiet. We went into Prince George this morning and took care of lots of errands and stocking up. On September 1st when we enter Alberta and the National Parks, we aren’t sure about the availability of supplies. We’ll be staying in three different National Park campgrounds for ten nights each. Limited hook-ups; just getting prepared.
Prince George was a 45-minute drive – not too bad. One of our stops was at the Visitor’s Center. We picked up an Alberta Canada map since we’ll be leaving British Columbia. We’ll also be crossing the Continental Divide. And we’ll be entering a different time zone. Another stop was at a Health Store, looking for Papaya Enzymes. They were mainly a protein supplement store, but what they had next door to them was a place called, Cobs Bread. By this time, it was approaching lunch time and we still had more shopping to do. We went into Cobs hoping for a couple of sandwiches. (It was a bakery, and OMG, if you are ever in Canada go to Cobs Bread. They said they are throughout Canada but not in the States.) Their breads looked fantastic, lots of different kinds, but we bake our own bread so we didn’t buy any. They had Spinach Feta Croissants, though, and those plus miniature-sized Sticky Buns and we bought them for lunch. SO, so good! We didn’t stop there – we got various Scones, Croissants, and even freshly baked Pizza Dough. So, anyway, if you are here, remember Cobs Bread.
We did a liquor/beer/wine stock up and a grocery stock up, found a health store for the papaya, found the kitty’s special kitty litter, and Rob got things for the generator and for cleaning the septic tanks. Gas for the Honda, and we headed back to the RV. A successful haul. Every now and then, you just need a bigger city!
It was cool today, and rainy. Luna and Gracie had to cuddle up together to keep themselves warm (as if the heated pad wasn’t enough).
