ABOUT PURDEN LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK: No written campground brochures but we did a drive-through to get some information. Purden Lake Provincial Park is located 64 km east of Prince George off Highway 16/Yellowhead Highway.
The Park was well off the main highway; you could not hear traffic from the road. It is a beautiful Park with dense woods and situated by the Lake. The Park was well-maintained (except the drinking water spigot at the dump station did not work). We don’t know how many campsites there were – at least 78, though (because we had site #78). Each site offered a separate tent pad, a picnic table, and a fire pit. There were no hook-ups at the campsites but there was a dump station. Water was available from spigots throughout the Park.
Amenities included: walking trails, biking on paved campground roads, a playground, pit toilets, a swimming beach, a dog beach, and ample parking at the picnic and boat launch areas for kayaking/canoeing/boating/fishing. We loved the long, tree-lined road that was winding the distance between Highway 16 and the campground. We would stay here again, but at a campsite farther away from the playground.
Our favorite sites would be (not in any preferential order): #12, 14, 24, 44, 45, 46, and 49. Check-in time was 1 p.m. Check-out time was 11 a.m. Generator hours were 9 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. We paid $65.89 for three nights including taxes and fees.
