FINAL DAY AT WICHITA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE.

Day 58 – Rob was not feeling up to par today – to be expected – so we sat around and did a bunch of trip planning in between naps. The cats love when we are like this. Nothing is more fun than jumping on a map when it is fully unfolded in someone’s lap! And who doesn’t love to sit in front of the computer screen when you can keep someone from doing what they were doing. Walking on key boards? A total blast!

Day 57 – After a ton of sleep I felt better today, a little tired and headachy. Now it’s Rob’s turn. His appointment at CVS in Lawton, OK was for 10:30 a.m. We still had the laundry in the back of the Honda. Yes, it’s finally laundry day. We passed the laundromat on the way to the CVS and it was not nearly as busy as on Sunday morning when we made our first attempt.

WIND AND SLEEP – BOOM.

Day 56 – We awoke in the middle of the night to wind gusts so heavy they rocked the RV. These trees are scraggly and obviously have gotten accustomed to the wind here, so we didn’t have to worry about trees coming down like in NY and ME. It remained very windy. I felt lousy enough that all I wanted to do was sleep, but the wind kept Rob awake and the girls were scared.

NO SIGNAL.

Day 55 – We’re behind on blog posts because once we moved across the road from one campsite to the other, we lost what little signal we had. We had two posts on the queue, ready to go out, but had no signal to send them. No phone, no internet. It was nice, very nice, not to hear even a beep, but it was also disconcerting – what if something happens? No one can reach us; we can’t reach anyone. Um, what’s happening in the world? Can’t get the news. Trust me, nothing much changes in the news. LOL. And, what if you need to know something right this minute? No internet, no google. How on earth did we all survive in the past? Hee hee.

A BUSY DAY AT THE RV.

Day 54 – We had plenty to keep us busy at the RV. We don’t have hook-ups at the campsite so this morning Rob went to get water for the fresh water tank. We had transferred all the remaining water that was in the tank beforehand, transferred it to several large bowls and a large pasta pan. We wanted to separate that water from the new water he was getting. There is a warning at the water spigots here which states that all water must be boiled due to the possibility of E Coli.

TRAVEL DAY: NORMAN, OKLAHOMA TO INDIAHOMA, OKLAHOMA.

Day 53 – We got up at 7:30 a.m. this morning; it was 58 degrees and sunny. The campers next to us left first thing – we don’t blame them since the campers on the other side of them had a bit of a party last night – and it wasn’t even the weekend yet. We’ll be out of here, too, once we get moving and pack up for the drive. We were looking forward to this drive, and told the girls not to worry because it would be a shorter drive than usual, and at our upcoming stop, we’d be here for at least a week and they wouldn’t have to go for another drive soon. How wrong we were.
