Day 57 – After a ton of sleep I felt better today, a little tired and headachy. Now it’s Rob’s turn. His appointment at CVS in Lawton, OK was for 10:30 a.m. We still had the laundry in the back of the Honda. Yes, it’s finally laundry day. We passed the laundromat on the way to the CVS and it was not nearly as busy as on Sunday morning when we made our first attempt.
We did laundry, many, many loads of it but YAAA it’s done now and rewarded ourselves with a sandwich from Jersey Mike’s. We stopped on our way out of Lawton and got the small, portable RV propane tank filled. A productive day, we headed back to the RV.
We noticed on the way to Lawton, and on the way back from Lawton, signs on the fences around Fort Sill. Curious about the one warning of possible artillery fire coming across a road that goes into a medium-sized town! Should we be wearing helmets and bullet-proof vests in our cars?
And regarding signs……we saw that most of the wildlife refuge was closed when we drove through on the way to and from Lawton – there were signs posted and gates up saying they were having a “controlled hunt”. I hope the animals have helmets and bullet-proof vests!
Back at the RV, we put up the laundry and relaxed with naps. Rob was starting to have a few minor side effects and he felt better after the nap. I was almost 100% again – not bad compared to getting dreadfully sick with COVID. We had a beautiful sunset and got a couple of sunset pictures from the campsite.
