A BUSY DAY AT THE RV.
Day 54 – We had plenty to keep us busy at the RV. We don’t have hook-ups at the campsite so this morning Rob went to get water for the fresh water tank. We had transferred all the remaining water that was in the tank beforehand, transferred it to several large bowls and a large pasta pan. We wanted to separate that water from the new water he was getting. There is a warning at the water spigots here which states that all water must be boiled due to the possibility of E Coli.
We have a portable, flexible fresh water tank. It doesn’t get used much but is perfect to use when you don’t want to pack up the RV, put the cats into “the safe place”, and leave your already-leveled campsite just to drive to a water spigot. Rob drives the portable tank on the roof of the car, fills it, and brings it back to the RV to pump it into the RV’s tank. Of course, it doesn’t fill the RV tank, but it gives us several days of water to boil – once we’ve used up the clean water we set aside earlier.
At noon (check-out time), we vacated site #70 by backing the RV across the campground road into the campsite directly across from us, site #69. We will be at #69 for two nights until site #70 opens up again. Then we will cross the road again and make ourselves at home.
After lunch we did a bunch of food prep, then Rob made his garlic cheese bread. Several hours later, we made a large batch of Creamy Mushroom and Shrimp Pasta Sauce to be served over Linguine for a few nights (in case I feel lousy after my Covid booster tomorrow morning). Following my booster shot, we will be doing many loads of laundry in the same town we’re going to for my shot – Lawton, OK. Today and tomorrow, not exciting, but this will open up the days following for driving the many roads of this wildlife refuge.
