HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HELEN!!  HAVE A PURRFECT DAY!

Day 80 – Yikes, 27 degrees this morning; guess winter is not over. Nice & sunny out though, and the wind had died down. We met Pam at her house after she got home from work & visited a bit with the dogs. Before that, Rob & I went to the used bookstore, Half Price Books, in Louisville. We traded in some books we’d read this past year and walked out with 4 more bags of books for the coming year.

CATS, DOGS, AND BOURBON.

Day 79 – 30 degrees this morning & the wind made it feel like 22 degrees (according to the weather forecast), and sunny. We brought our coats back out for our excursions today. Brrrr! We met Pam in Indiana at the place she was working today, and together with one of her dogs, Ginji, we went to have an early lunch and get some propane for the RV. Lunch was at a great place called, CoreLife Eateries. It was really good and just what we needed after the heavy Mexican meal last night! They had design-your-own salads, soups, protein bowls, and broths using organic, fresh, local foods. Awesome. Our stomachs were happy.

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN.

Day 78 – It rained all night last night and was 61 degrees & still raining while we got ready to leave. It’s always pretty messy when it’s raining hard & Rob has to dump tanks & pack things up outside. We left at 11 a.m. (Central Time) and at times during the drive, it was raining so hard we could barely see.

CH-CH-CH-CHANGES. Part 3, Really?

Day 195 – THE COLD is not getting better. I feel awful today, have lost my voice & have a dry hacking cough. Woke up this morning to lousy weather, heavy rain and wind. A storm front was moving in and snow, sleet, and freezing rain were expected throughout today and tomorrow, beginning near us & becoming particularly bad southeast of us right over the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky, where we were travelling to today. Somewhere I’ve heard that “plans are made for changing” and evidently that’s true. We’ve changed our plans yet again and have decided to head south beyond the icy weather pattern to Bowling Green, KY.  There was a Half Price Bookstore Outlet there after all.

CH-CH-CH-CHANGES. Part 2.

Day 193 – I thought THE COLD wasn’t much worse this morning, so maybe it wouldn’t be a big deal afterall. Nope, I was feeling really bad after doing basically nothing, so I went back to bed. We don’t get to see Pam often. I didn’t want to spend my time here sick. Oops, I woke up at noon! Surprise. I called her right away & told her I just got up, was not hungry, and could we change our afternoon plans of a drive & lunch at a place out in the country until Friday? She had already thought of that idea.
