GOOD DAY SUNSHINE.
Day 4 – Sunny, the rain has stopped! 43 degrees at 8 a.m. Not only are the lighted trees for Christmas beautiful at this Park, but the moisture on the trees is glistening in the sunlight. We left for Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge around 10:30 a.m. The traffic was light for the Saturday before Christmas, but we took backroads anyway.
Day 85 – Rob had his coffee outside by the Lake, then he went out in the kayak. The Black Ducks visited; the scenery was beautiful & the water was calm. It was 58 degrees at 7 a.m., partly cloudy.
Day 81 – September, really?! Time flies. We were up by 7 a.m. Sunny & 52 degrees. It did not reach the low 40’s like it had been predicted, neither last night nor the night before. But we’re sure that’s coming. Tying up loose ends from August, we checked yesterday to make sure our Absentee Ballots had been mailed to us for the NYS Primary, and we checked with our medical insurances & Social Security/Medicare to make sure the issue regarding our home vs. mailing addresses had been satisfactorily taken care of. It appears things are on the right track again. Life’s little aggravations.
END OF MONTH TWO, TRIP #4: As of Day 61, yesterday 8/12/18, we’ve been gone for two months on Trip #4. Granted, we had to stop and return home in July so that Rob could fly to CA, but just counting days on the road, we’ve completed two months of this trip. We got back on the road once he returned & we’d packed up again. We’d left off at Aroostook State Park in northern Maine near Presque Isle. When we returned to camping, we first headed to the old standby in Massachssetts, Traveler’s Wood’s Campground, then drove up to northern NH near the Maine border near Umbagog Lake National Wildlife Refuge. We stayed for over a week at Coleman State Park, an excellent campground, with Loons calling. Bald Eagles, Moose & great kayaking. From there we drove to Rangeley Lake State Park in western Maine, stayed there for almost a week, then moved on to Peaks-Kenny State Park near Dover-Foxcroft in central Maine. Beautiful country, but we really want to see the top of Maine, near the Canadian border. Not many roads there, almost no towns, river kayaking galore, Moose, Bears, Eagles, oh my……and we’ve just obtained reservations at Moosehead Lake and also at Baxter State Park, moving ever onward to the north. Day 62 – I neglected to do a campground review after Rangeley Lake State Park, so that will follow along with a review of Peaks-Kenny State Park because, guess what?, we have left this Park and moved on to another one! Crazy.

Day 46 – Gorgeous day at 6 a.m., sunny, 55 degrees. We are leaving northern Maine this morning, heading for home. It will take several days to get home, then Rob will be flying out to CA to visit his mom. Depending on how things go, we will continue this trip in a few weeks & will start up the Blog again at that time. This is the last day of trip #4’s Blog, for now.

Day 41 – At 6:30 a.m. it was 55 degrees, gorgeous out, sunny & clear. We wish we didn’t have to leave, but we’ve been at this campground for a month. We packed up & Rob did a complete check of both vehicles since we haven’t done much driving lately. The girls were surprised when they were moved into the bedroom for travelling.

Day 4 – It was 48 degrees and partly cloudy this morning when we got up. We hate to leave; it’s really nice here, but today we are driving to our land, way down east Maine. We haven’t been there since last August. When we left there last, we’d just had work done on the land to put in a new clearing closer to the cliff’s edge overlooking the water. We’d only been able to camp there two nights to try out the new RV pad before we had to leave.

Day 3 – It was 57 degrees and sunny at 7:45 a.m., supposed to be much cooler today, plus we’ll be heading farther north along the coast. We’ll be going to Belfast, ME to one of our favorite campgrounds, Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort.

Day 2 – Quiet campground this morning, but it must’ve been busy over the weekend! Sunny and 66 degrees when we got up. We had a restful night & the cats did well, too. It’s amazing to us how things have switched – this is home & we all settled right in; the original “home” is now the vacation spot.

HOME SWEET….SNOW?
Day 232 – Beginning of Week 34. It was 39 degrees this morning when we got up. If we used no more than 20 amps electricity at a time, we kept our electricity at this site without it browning out. Last night Rob called the campground owners & let them know that the 30 amp breaker wasn’t working. We departed the campground at 9:35 a.m., 45 degrees, partly cloudy.
