Day 17 – We spent most of the morning with the girls, knowing we might be getting back to the RV a little later this evening. It was a beautiful, but windy, day (until we got to the Refuge and wanted to take some pictures, LOL, but the sun did come out occasionally from the clouds that had formed).

Day 16 – We had a little time this morning with the girls before leaving for Easton. It rained most of the night and was windy. They were a little spooked by the wind. We hate to leave them and our tiny home on wheels, but they do get lots of sleep when we’re not here. Boredom should be setting in soon, though.

Day 15 – The campground was very quiet last night and we slept well. The only campers we could see anywhere around us left this morning. Weekdays are the best! We were up and out the door without hanging around, for a day in Easton, MD, arriving at Gail’s house a little after 10 a.m. It was warm and humid. Rain is expected later.

Day 14 – We were surprised by some rain last night. This morning it was 52 degrees and cloudy. Our destination today was Martinak State Park in Denton, MD. We didn’t have too far to travel. We departed Trap Pond State Park, along with most of the other campers going home from their weekend camping adventures, and waited in line to dump tanks. It was 11:55 a.m. when we left the park, 60 degrees and cloudy.

Day 5 – We hadn’t decided where to go next until we saw Gail’s son, Shane, and he told us about Assateague Island National Seashore & showed us pictures of the wild horses running in the sand with the Atlantic Ocean behind them. Yep, we knew we had to go there. We got up at 8 a.m., 33 degrees & sunny. We leisurely packed up, dumped tanks, and departed Martinak State Park at 11:10 a.m. The girls just settled in right away; they’ve really adjusted to camping.

Day 4 – Sunny, the rain has stopped! 43 degrees at 8 a.m. Not only are the lighted trees for Christmas beautiful at this Park, but the moisture on the trees is glistening in the sunlight. We left for Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge around 10:30 a.m. The traffic was light for the Saturday before Christmas, but we took backroads anyway.

THE SKY IS CRYING.
Day 2 – We got up at 7:30 a.m., 34 degrees & cloudy. The kitties slept well, therefore we did, too. Speaking of the girls, they remained settled and happy, each returning to their favorite place in the RV. They DO like travelling better than being at home, what a surprise!
ON THE ROAD AGAIN!
Day 1 – Hello friends & family! We’re up & running for our fifth trip, this one isn’t too long & is very loosely planned. We know we need to be home in April for obligations; we know we can’t go directly west nor north because it’s winter. So that leaves a trip south. We know, too, that things can change at the drop of a pin & that weather is really what controls where and when we can go places. That said, first we are going directly south to the eastern shore of Maryland to visit my stepmother (who is really more a good friend than a “stepmother”). Dependent on pending ice storms, we will either head slowly south stopping at places we’ve never seen, or hurry south if we need to get around a predicted storm. We would like to spend more time in Georgia at the Okefenokee Swamp and more time in the Bayou of Louisiana. Those 2 places in particular from Trip #1 stood out as areas we wanted to revisit and explore for longer periods of time. Time & weather permitting, we’ll visit my daughter in Louisville, KY on the way back home. So trip 5 begins as we travel to Easton, Maryland.
