THE SKY IS CRYING.
Day 2 – We got up at 7:30 a.m., 34 degrees & cloudy. The kitties slept well, therefore we did, too. Speaking of the girls, they remained settled and happy, each returning to their favorite place in the RV. They DO like travelling better than being at home, what a surprise!
We moved from site #16 in the B Loop, Santa’s Wonderland, to site #33 in the A Loop. There are three campsites in the A Loop that are for camp hosts in season. These sites have electricity, the others in this loop do not. Since it’s off-season, these electric campsites are not occupied. One campsite had someone camping in it; we took site #33 with a long driveway. No one else is camping here.

It began to rain at 10:30 a.m. There were flood watches issued for the county. It continued raining, sometimes quite heavily, until it petered out for good almost two days later. The Eastern Shore of Maryland is pretty flat and the water table is high. There are lots of wetlands & marshes. Flooding is not good. My stepmother, Gail, said she’d just read that this year has been the wettest year EVER.
We left the campground to spend the day with Gail a little after 11 a.m. Gail has a wonderful dog, Keely, and after visiting with them at Gail’s house in Easton, the three of us left for lunch at the Tidewater Inn. This is an historic old Inn in the center of downtown Easton and it’d been my request to have lunch there. Two years ago at the start of Trip #1, Gail had taken us there & I had ordered the Crab Soup. Having never forgotten how good it was, I wanted to go there again. The restaurant was crowded with lots of people having Christmas celebrations. The decorations in the town were very pretty. Lunch was delicious. Gail gave us a great Birthday card & bought our lunches. Thank you, Gail!
We went back to her house and hung out until Shane, her oldest son, arrived for a visit. We all had dinner at the restaurant where she lives and went back to her place for birthday cake she had made for us, a really good Lemoncello Cake. It was great to see my relatives and Keely, and we went back to the RV full and contented. Fed the girls who seemed like they hadn’t even noticed we’d been gone. A good day, thanks again, Gail!
