Notre Dame Provincial Park

A RAINY SUNDAY.

Day 102 – 61 degrees at 8 a.m. this morning, it rained most of the night and continued raining during the day. It went all the way up to 62 degrees this afternoon. We got our sweatshirts back out.

As planned, we went into Lewisporte to Chelsea’s for our fish. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the Crab, so we bought all Lobster instead. And some more Cod. We had lunch there; they were busy as usual, despite the weather. We were also able to get that propane refill for the portable tank. The fuzz-buckets were sharing heated pads when we got back to the RV.

We made a loaf of bread for the future Lobster Rolls, (for us that would be “sandwiches”). Tonight will be more of the same for dinner. Tomorrow morning we will be leaving for our next, longer stay – Harbour Breton. We’ll be ready for more drives and exploration after travel day on Monday.

TRAVEL DAY

Day 101 – It was partly cloudy at 7 a.m. this morning and 62 degrees; lots of mosquitoes out. We had a longer drive today than we like (we didn’t tell the girls this; no need to upset them before they would get upset anyway). We rushed around, no checking e-mails and reading the NY Times on the computer!

Day 52 – The rain is back and it looks like it will be around for several days. So glad we got out yesterday even though it was cloudy! This morning it was 42 degrees; that could be the high for today. We’ll be hunkered down in the RV today, but that’s okay. We’ll be doing a big batch of cooking this afternoon – it’s time for some curry.

GIANT MURALS, SQUID & LOBSTER.

Day 51 – Warmer inland, it was 42 degrees this morning. Cloudy and overcast, there was no wind and the sun wasn’t out. We went for a drive, leaving at 9:30 a.m., and were gone all day.

Day 50 – The low last night was 41 degrees. We saw that there was a little less ice pack in front of the RV than there was when we arrived here last Saturday. But we doubt it will all be gone by this Saturday. We took our time getting ready to leave this morning. We won’t have hook-ups at the Park we’re going to, so we took long showers and washed our hair.
