NEWFOUNDLAND – WOOHOO! A PARTIALLY SUNNY DAY!
Day 155 – At 7:30 this morning it was 44 degrees & cloudy. The weather forecast was for a partly sunny day with no rain. The last time we had that forecast, it was rainy & foggy from about the time we left to the time we got back to the RV. We were hoping for a better day, and we got it.
NEWFOUNDLAND – ANOTHER RAINY DAY.

Day 154 – It rained all day. The temperature this morning was 52 degrees; it never got over 55 degrees during the day. We’re getting tired of this weather, but at least the continual rain keeps it cool. We were saying this afternoon that we don’t think we’ve ever been anywhere that got this much rain. People have been telling us since we got here that September was so beautiful, fall colors & all, and September really had the best weather. Well, I guess not this year. But tomorrow is another day & maybe then we can get some pictures of this area.
NEWFOUNDLAND – AN ATTEMPT AT SIGHTSEEING.
Day 153 – It rained as usual last night, but this morning the rain had stopped & it was just very cloudy & humid, 48 degrees when we got up. The weather forecast said no rain. We thought we’d venture outside to do some exploring.

Day 152 – We actually slept until 9 a.m. this morning. Yawn! It started raining about 10 p.m. last night & continued all night. It was 41 degrees, windy, and raining this morning but the rain stopped until after lunch when it started up again. We’re having some trouble with the electrical connection here. It appears the campground wiring is not able to provide enough power to run a microwave or a hot water heater or our electric heat. We have to run the generator when we need to use these items or use the propane-powered version. Not a huge deal, but we may end up moving to a different site. We’ll see how it goes.
Windy & rainy today, we just stuck around the RV, caught up on the blog, made two loaves of garlic cheese bread, and did a few things that had gotten behind. The lazy cats slept all day; but what can we say after sleeping so late this morning. The high today was 53 degrees. The rain continues.
NEWFOUNDLAND – GROS MORNE NATIONAL PARK TO BLACK DUCK SIDING.
Day 151 – It was 41 degrees & cloudy at 7:30 a.m. this morning. We’d made the decision to leave Gros Morne earlier than planned to explore areas farther south while waiting for peak colors to arrive at the National Park. On Sunday we had scouted several campgrounds that would be staying open in the Park so that we’d know where to stay when we came back north in a week or two. We were surprised that the campground gave us a full refund for the nights we’d paid for already but were not staying. We departed the campground after dumping tanks at 11:30 a.m., heading south on Route 430. It was 53 degrees & with some sun.

Day 150 – We were able to get up early without it killing us, LOL. But forking out over a thousand dollars today on the Honda work almost did kill us. Nevertheless, it feels good to have the car working great again!
NEWFOUNDLAND – GROS MORNE NATIONAL PARK, SOUTH.
Day 149 – 42 degrees this morning, it was clear & breezy when we got up. Since we sat around yesterday & tomorrow we have to take the Honda back to get work done on it, a three-hour drive round trip, today was a good day to check out the Park south of us. Furthermore, the weather forecast beginning tonight is rain for days.
NEWFOUNDLAND – SATURDAY IN THE PARK.
Day 148 – We slept in this morning. It was 49 degrees at 8:30 a.m. this morning. It had rained during the night. The clouds burned off by noon & the sun came out. We’d planned to drive to other parts of Gros Morne today, but by the time the weather cleared & we got up and running, we cancelled that idea to stay home in the RV, do some cooking for future dinners, and catch up on the blog (which always seems to get behind whether we have a signal or not).
NEWFOUNDLAND – WHALE & BALD EAGLE SIGHTINGS, OUTRAGEOUS SCENERY, A WARM SUNNY DAY, PARTRIDGEBERRY DRINKS & A GOURMET MEAL.
Day 147 – Today was a good day. Perfect weather. A great boat tour. A wonderful meal. What more could you want? Warmer this morning at 49 degrees at 7:30 a.m. And sunny with light wind. This is our third day in a row with pretty good weather after four solid days of rain & winds. The weather forecast is for at least four more days of solid rain beginning Monday.
NEWFOUNDLAND – GROS MORNE NATIONAL PARK, NORTH.
Day 146 – Brrrr…..it was 38 degrees this morning and cloudy when we got up. The sun came out late morning, so we had an early lunch and left to explore, driving north on Route 430. We drove through small towns like Sally’s Cove & St. Pauls, traveling beyond the northern edge of Gros Morne National Park. Each town was charming. And we stopped at several interpretation points at various locations in this northern part of the National Park.
