Day 123 – Wow, last night we each had a Sticky Bun from The Bakery in Port au Choix. They were incredible, and the reviews were spot on. We checked our calendar to find out if we’d next be in Port au Choix on a Saturday – and we will! Oh boy! Grin.
Day 122 – At 7:15 a.m. this morning, it was 62 degrees and raining. It had started raining in the middle of the night. The wind had picked up, too. We began packing up to leave, but took a break from that to go into town to The Bakery, which had gotten rave reviews but was only open on Saturdays.

MAPLE: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! WE HOPE YOU’VE HAD A GREAT TIME ON YOUR VACATION!
Day 121 – It was very cloudy this morning and 61 degrees. Once again it looks like lots of rain is coming this way. Our plan is to stay at the campground today except, of course, for checking on the Caribou.
Day 120 – This morning it was 63 degrees when we got up, the same as yesterday’s high temperature. It was very cloudy – it’s not supposed to rain today, but honestly, they rarely get the weather forecast right. Depending on the weather later, we’ll stay around Port au Choix or go for a drive south.
Day 119 – It was 52 degrees at 7:30 a.m. this morning, still a bit windy, but not raining anymore. It was pretty out, but as we left to make a trip through town and visit the lighthouse, the darker clouds were moving in.

Day 118 – It rained during the night and continued raining all day today. When we got up, it was 57 degrees with no wind. We packed up and got ready to go to our next destination. Right before we leave in the RV, Rob hooks the Honda up to the RV to be towed behind us, while I wait in the driver’s seat of the RV for him to give me a sign that he is ready to check all the lights. Today he came back inside to say that there was a problem with the power to the brake unit. No power means we cannot safely tow the vehicle.

Day 117 – It was 55 degrees this morning. The rain started around lunchtime. In the morning we went into Deer Lake for some errands: gas in the Honda, propane refill for the portable RV tank, post office, and groceries. Then we cooked up a large batch of Thai Peanut Sauce to be served over Pasta with Scallops.
Day 116 – We never did get rain and thunderstorms last night, but the wind has been gusting strongly. Luckily it was the windiest in La Scie at the campground on the hill without a lot of protection from the trees. It was 62 degrees this morning at 7 a.m. and beautiful out with fluffy white clouds and lots of sunlight.

Day 115 – Last night it rained most of the night. This morning when we got up, it was very cloudy and windy, and warmer than it has been at 61 degrees. We were surprised to see the sun come out for several hours this morning. It was just beautiful out, but the forecast was for thunderstorms and heavy rain.
Day 114 – It was very foggy this morning when we got up, but at least it had stopped raining and the wind had died down. We left at 10 a.m. to do our final drive on this peninsula.
