FOOD, FOG & FOGO.

Day 59 – It was 41 degrees this morning and not raining. The fog was dense; it was not windy. Not a great day for taking pictures due to the fog, we decided to check out some things on the island (like is there any way we can get a propane tank refilled; where is the dump station; where do we get gasoline; where are the seafood co-ops where we can get local fish to take with us; and most importantly, where is the island’s best restaurant?).

GOOD LUCK, GAIL!

TRAVEL DAY

From: Peyton’s Woods RV Park & Campground, Twillingate, NL.

To: Brimstone Head RV Park, Fogo Island, NL.

Day 58 – It rained last night and was still raining this morning when we got up. At 6:30 a.m. it was 46 degrees. We departed Peyton’s Woods at 9 a.m. after dumping tanks. The temperature had dropped to 41 degrees; it was windy & raining. Certainly not a good day for taking pictures from a ferry.

LAST DAY AT TWILLINGATE.

Day 57 – Surprisingly, the temperature this morning at 6:45 a.m. was 50 degrees. Ever changing! There was no wind, but it rained most of the morning. Tomorrow morning we will be getting up early in order to catch a ferry to our next campground – six nights on isolated Fogo Island, one of several places that we decided were our favorite experiences from our last trip to Newfoundland. We’re looking forward to it!

COLD!

Day 54 – It rained hard all night and the low temperature was 33.8 degrees. We have a few errands to run in Twillingate today and will probably go out around lunch time. Right now it’s only 35 degrees and it’s still fairly windy. I don’t think we’ll be doing much more outside than the errands.

ENJOY YOUR WEEK, LIZ & CHRIS! YOU DESERVE IT!

Day 52 – The rain is back and it looks like it will be around for several days. So glad we got out yesterday even though it was cloudy! This morning it was 42 degrees; that could be the high for today. We’ll be hunkered down in the RV today, but that’s okay. We’ll be doing a big batch of cooking this afternoon – it’s time for some curry.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO IS AFFECTED BY THE SMOKE FROM THE FIRES!!!

TRAVEL DAY

From: Town of King’s Point RV Park, King’s Point, NL.

To: Notre Dame Provincial Park, Lewisporte, NL.

Day 50 – The low last night was 41 degrees. We saw that there was a little less ice pack in front of the RV than there was when we arrived here last Saturday. But we doubt it will all be gone by this Saturday. We took our time getting ready to leave this morning. We won’t have hook-ups at the Park we’re going to, so we took long showers and washed our hair.
