Day 68 – Cool & clear out this morning, 52 degrees. Rob got up at 6:15 a.m.; I got up at 7:00. We both sleep a lot better when it’s cool! He took a bike ride; he saw a mother & baby Deer. Lots of campers leaving this morning; should be a quiet day. It’s going to be a good day!

Day 67 – We were up early this morning, before 6:30. Still raining, 65 degrees. So far, it’s been like being in a different campground instead of just on the other side of a campground loop. Very quiet. The girls are more relaxed, too. We are all curmudgeons, LOL.

CHANGING CAMPSITES AGAIN? SERIOUSLY?
Day 66 – Well, last night after dark, the campsite right next to us was occupied by more people that were part of the group around us. Screaming kids exited that car to meet up with screaming kids from the campside across from us (the older couple on the other side of us were either grandma & grandpa, or more realistically, oldest daughter traveling with gramps). For awhile, sleep was out of the question. The thought of what the weekend ahead held for us was not a pleasant thought.

Day 65 – It was 64 degrees this morning, sunny & breezy, a very comfortable humidity level, YAAA. Rob took a bike ride; the kitties were in a very playful mood, and we’ll probably go kayaking later today. Looking good!

Day 64 – Rob was up early at 5:50; Luna was giving everything she had to get him out of bed. It was 67 degrees & humid. I was up at 7:15, the girls were quieted down & fed by then. He took a bike ride through the campground & on some trails; saw 2 Deer but no Moose. There are areas of this campground where it’s noisy. We’ve been lucky so far on this side.

Day 63 – We were up by 7 a.m., it was humid, cloudy, and 66 degrees. Thunderstorms may move in this afternoon. This Park is crowded & is one of the most popular Parks in the north woods section of Maine. Our campsite is located a little bit on a hill, so we look down on the surrounding sites, which is good because there are other campsites all around us. They are separated by some trees but are fairly close together. Since this is a non-reservable campsite, we can keep it up to two weeks. It will get us through the weekend onslaught. Then we head to the wild country of Baxter State Park.

END OF MONTH TWO, TRIP #4: As of Day 61, yesterday 8/12/18, we’ve been gone for two months on Trip #4. Granted, we had to stop and return home in July so that Rob could fly to CA, but just counting days on the road, we’ve completed two months of this trip. We got back on the road once he returned & we’d packed up again. We’d left off at Aroostook State Park in northern Maine near Presque Isle. When we returned to camping, we first headed to the old standby in Massachssetts, Traveler’s Wood’s Campground, then drove up to northern NH near the Maine border near Umbagog Lake National Wildlife Refuge. We stayed for over a week at Coleman State Park, an excellent campground, with Loons calling. Bald Eagles, Moose & great kayaking. From there we drove to Rangeley Lake State Park in western Maine, stayed there for almost a week, then moved on to Peaks-Kenny State Park near Dover-Foxcroft in central Maine. Beautiful country, but we really want to see the top of Maine, near the Canadian border. Not many roads there, almost no towns, river kayaking galore, Moose, Bears, Eagles, oh my……and we’ve just obtained reservations at Moosehead Lake and also at Baxter State Park, moving ever onward to the north. Day 62 – I neglected to do a campground review after Rangeley Lake State Park, so that will follow along with a review of Peaks-Kenny State Park because, guess what?, we have left this Park and moved on to another one! Crazy.

Day 61 – It was 62 degrees & cloudy this morning at 6:50 a.m. A nice, cool night but I wouldn’t call it quiet. That’s the weekend in a crowded Park. Still, we’ve seen worse. The exodus began around 7:30; should be really crowded at the dump station by the time we leave, hopefully by 10 a.m. The girls are contentedly relaxing; they don’t know yet that we’ll be traveling today.

Day 59 – Cooler this morning, sunny & breezy, 62 degrees. Rob took another long bike ride. We all, cats included, are so much more comfortable now that it’s not humid. The girls are feeling their oats, running around, having a great time. This afternoon we’ll be going into Rangeley for groceries & a trip to the Post Office – our mail finally arrived for pick up.
