HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAPLE! What a wonderful way to spend your 15th Birthday – in Canada, on vacation – HAVE A PURRFECT DAY!
Day 67 – We were up early this morning, before 6:30. Still raining, 65 degrees. So far, it’s been like being in a different campground instead of just on the other side of a campground loop. Very quiet. The girls are more relaxed, too. We are all curmudgeons, LOL.
We drove into town to run an errand, then drove back to the RV and had an early lunch. We left around noon to take a drive around Moosehead Lake. It was 68 degrees, drizzling a little, beautiful out with dark clouds moving over the Lake. The Lake is very large; we hoped to see Moose but didn’t see any – did see Deer though. At the top of the Lake we took a dirt road for many miles, hoping to visit a campground on a different lake which was quite remote. But the road was too rough with many muddy potholes, and we figured that even if we really liked this campground out in the wilderness, trying to bring the RV in on this road wouldn’t be a good idea. So we turned around and went back around the Lake, stopping at Mount Kineo to take a picture as the sun starting peaking out from behind the clouds.

As we drove back through Greenville before turning north along the other side of the Lake, we saw that it was swarming with people, in comparison to just a few hours earlier when it was raining. The good weather was back. Before going back to our campsite, we drove through the other campground loop, Dunn Point, to see if they were full. On the way in, and on the way out, we saw two separate small groups of young, spotted deer that were feeding on the grass. So cute!
Back at our campsite, we made an early dinner – garlic shrimp burritos, then sat outside in the screened tent. Quiet out and it was a Saturday evening. We walked over to the tent sites by the water, a great location & you can launch a kayak from site #44T which was empty, surprisingly. The people next to us had left; maybe the chipmunk chased them away. The high today was 71 degrees.
