TRIP #4  PUT ON HOLD FOR NOW.

Day 46 – Gorgeous day at 6 a.m., sunny, 55 degrees. We are leaving northern Maine this morning, heading for home. It will take several days to get home, then Rob will be flying out to CA to visit his mom. Depending on how things go, we will continue this trip in a few weeks & will start up the Blog again at that time. This is the last day of trip #4’s Blog, for now.

Monday, July 9 (Day 43) thru Wednesday, July 11, 2018 (Day 45)

Monday, 7/9 – Another hot one today, reached 89 degrees. Ugh. Not humid, but no breeze. (But not even close to the very hot weather in southern CA. To our friends & relatives, take care to stay as cool as possible!) We put the awning out early to keep the direct sun from hitting the RV on one side. By mid-morning, the campground was almost empty & it remained very quiet throughout the day. What a difference from the weekend! We just moved around as little as possible & tried not to get too hot. Missing air conditioning!

Day 41 – At 6:30 a.m. it was 55 degrees, gorgeous out, sunny & clear. We wish we didn’t have to leave, but we’ve been at this campground for a month. We packed up & Rob did a complete check of both vehicles since we haven’t done much driving lately. The girls were surprised when they were moved into the bedroom for travelling.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Day 38 – We’ve been hearing some fireworks each night beginning Saturday evening; they may have something going in Lubec or Eastport – this campground’s located about halfway between these two cities. We did see a few in the distance Saturday night. Today is supposed to be our warmest day of the heat wave – the weather report is for 85 degrees, breeze later, sunny & clear. That’s quite warm enough for us. But no complaints compared to other people, for sure!

Day 35 – July, moving into summer and today is our 38th anniversary. We had thought about going whale watching from Campobello Island, one of our favorite things to do, but they are just opening for the season today and the peak for whales won’t be for another month or two. We’ll do it then. Our favorite restaurant, Riverside Inn in East Machias, closed last year when the owners retired. It’s so darn nice right here; every day is like celebrating. So guess what….we didn’t go anywhere. LOL.

Friday, June 29 (Day 33) & Saturday, June 30, 2018 (Day 34)

Not a whole lot to report; the days & nights are blending together. The weather remains beautiful with very little of the early summer fog. We haven’t gone anywhere and are enjoying doing NOTHING. With my eye swollen almost shut and quite puffy from the bug bites, I’m sure not going anywhere! Just back & forth from the RV to the screened tent, watching the tide come in and back out again. Yawn…..
