Day 35 – July, moving into summer and today is our 38th anniversary. We had thought about going whale watching from Campobello Island, one of our favorite things to do, but they are just opening for the season today and the peak for whales won’t be for another month or two. We’ll do it then. Our favorite restaurant, Riverside Inn in East Machias, closed last year when the owners retired. It’s so darn nice right here; every day is like celebrating. So guess what….we didn’t go anywhere. LOL.
A huge record-breaking heat wave is arriving in much of the east and middle of the country. It may hit 80 degrees here. We are very happy to be here. For the next several days, temperatures at home in NY will be in the upper 90’s to low 100’s with high humidity. Ugh. There’s only so much window-unit air conditioners can do in those conditions. To our relatives & friends affected by this – we are thinking about you and wish you lots of luck & cooler weather!
The birds continue to arrive here. Cedar Waxwings today, so pretty. It rained a little last night, it’s a bit humid today which means more mosquitoes, and it may rain a little tonight. My eyelid is returning to normal, the girls are having fun playing between naps, and Rob needs new bike tires; his are showing some age & splitting. The additional 4th-of-July campers are out & about but it hasn’t been bad due to the spacing between campsites. All is fine here.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
