HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Day 38 – We’ve been hearing some fireworks each night beginning Saturday evening; they may have something going in Lubec or Eastport – this campground’s located about halfway between these two cities. We did see a few in the distance Saturday night. Today is supposed to be our warmest day of the heat wave – the weather report is for 85 degrees, breeze later, sunny & clear. That’s quite warm enough for us. But no complaints compared to other people, for sure!

Okay – now we will complain!  Above was written in the morning – now it’s a couple of days later. The fourth of July reached 92 degrees with high humidity and no breeze whatsoever. It was miserable. No air conditioning (we have no electricity). We spent most of the day in the tent spraying ourselves with ice water. I really feel for those who’ve dealt with this & much higher temperatures!
