HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Day 14 – A new year. What will this one bring! Got HOPE? How about Hope & Good Will for  All. Anyway, back to business, 58 degrees this morning, windy & cloudy. Who let the dogs out? The trailer 3 sites down from us let all 3 dogs out to run free. Those dogs were thrilled with this prospect, but it sure caused an uproar amongst all the other dogs. Soon most dogs in the campground were running around. Wee Haw! The kitties were not happy about the ruckus.

NEW YEAR’S EVE IN VIRGINIA.

Day 13 – What do they do in Cape Charles, VA for New Year’s Eve?  The Crab Pot gets dropped. I don’t know if it gets televised all over the world, but it appears everyone shows up at the Park around 10 p.m. for the party. We don’t know yet if we’ll have our own little party in the RV or mosey on down to participate in their celebration.

Day 10 – Virginia is for lovers; that’s what the signs say. I don’t know about that, but it’s a nice State so far. The temperatures rose during the night and the wind increased. As of 7:30 a.m. it was 63 degrees & not raining yet. Sustained winds at 18 MPH with higher gusts. But not nearly as scary as it was in Maine because there is much less danger of a tree coming down on us. I feel like an old storm pro now after that experience. Winds are supposed to increase to 25 MPH with higher gusts & rain should begin around noon. We’re doing just fine.

Day 9 – Rob was up at 7:15 a.m. & I got up ½ hour later. It was sunny, low 30’s. Last night when Rob was outside waiting for the moon to come up, we could hear the horses whinnying in the campground. When the moon came up, it lit up the campground, but we still couldn’t see the horses. Today we move to Virginia. We haven’t yet camped in Virginia, so we’ll be able to add a sticker to the U.S. travel map on the RV.

Day 5 – Cold, 27 degrees, but sunny and clear, 6:35 a.m.  Got a fairly long drive ahead of us to make it from NJ to NC and have time to set-up at the campground before dark.  But I have to wonder whether we should just start this blog all over again with this being the first day of the trip (since we went all the way back home again and started over), or maybe call this Trip 1-B?
