Day 10 – Virginia is for lovers; that’s what the signs say. I don’t know about that, but it’s a nice State so far. The temperatures rose during the night and the wind increased. As of 7:30 a.m. it was 63 degrees & not raining yet. Sustained winds at 18 MPH with higher gusts. But not nearly as scary as it was in Maine because there is much less danger of a tree coming down on us. I feel like an old storm pro now after that experience. Winds are supposed to increase to 25 MPH with higher gusts & rain should begin around noon. We’re doing just fine.
Hunkered down inside the RV all day. It rained on & off; the wind had died down by midnight. During the day the waves in the Bay were fairly large and there were lots of white caps. We got some stuff done today, caught up with the budget spreadsheet, cooked up a big batch of scampi sauce for shrimp scampi, and made a couple of loaves of pumpkin bread. A quiet day inside with the cats who didn’t do much more than sleep and eat. The high today was 64 degrees; supposed to get down in the 50’s tonight – not very cold. We did see a Bald Eagle fly through the campground quite close to the RV.
