Day 80 – Rob & I woke up around 5:30 a.m. and saw the beginnings of a great sunrise outside the bedroom window. I went back to sleep and Rob watched as the sunrise continued, deciding it was going to be worth the trip outside to take pictures. Luna & Gracie were thrilled because this meant an early breakfast. 48 degrees with light rain.

Day 78 – Oh my goodness, it’s the beginning of Week Twelve; we’ll be going home soon. Time to start planning another trip, LOL. The high yesterday was 69 degrees but it’s not going to reach 50 degrees today. Feeling at home being in the North once again. We had a quiet night & had the heat on for the first time in months; it was 47 degrees at 8 a.m. this morning that was as warm as it got during the day.

Day 77 – We got up at 6:30 a.m. & departed Hocking Hills State Park at 8:30. It had rained much of the night & the forecast was that it would rain most of today, too. The campground was almost empty as we left, 65 degrees. We drove North and East through Ohio; about half of the drive was on thruways, the other half on winding, two-lane highways. It was less hilly as we drove north, with beautiful Amish & Pennsylvania Dutch farms. I saw a barn with a large, colorful quilt painted on it. At that time we didn’t realize we’d see many more barns painted like that.

Day 76 – At 7 a.m. it was 60 degrees and sunny, a beautiful morning, and it was supposed to be mid to high 80’s later in the day with more rain coming in the evening. We took our chances at the laundry facilities and got our next load of laundry done by noon. People were leaving the campground and lined up at the dump station. The weekend was coming to a close, and we were glad that with this crowd, we had full hook-ups and wouldn’t have to wait in line at the dump station tomorrow when it was time for us to leave.

Day 75 – It rained on & off all day, very heavy at times, and late afternoon it ended as the sun peeked out in the mist.  High today 75 degrees. The activity began immediately as camper doors opened and people & pets emerged from captivity. We’d been sitting inside with the cats and were very happy to at last open some windows. The campground was full. Let the bar-b-queing begin.

Day 73 – We got up at 6 a.m., but we were really dragging & going back to bed would’ve been wonderful.  It was raining and the sound of the rain on the roof of the RV is great for sleeping.  Alas, it’s a travel day so we forced ourselves to pack up and get ready to leave, all with the help of lots of caffeine. Left Charlestown State Park in Indiana at 8:45 a.m., 60 degrees and raining hard. We drove across the East End Bridge to get into Kentucky and onto I-71 which we took northeast through KY and into Ohio.  Kentucky is really beautiful and we’d like to explore it more.
