Day 74 – 48 degrees at 7 a.m. and the dog walking had already begun, lots of beautiful dogs bounding by, pulling their cold and sleepy owners along behind them; our lazy cats watching from the dashboard and windows of the RV, yawning. The changing of the guard continued as some campers packed up and left, followed soon by a new batch moving in for the weekend.

Storms were supposed to arrive around noon so we took a bike ride in the morning around the campground. The loops with no hook-ups & the ones with electric-only hook-ups were not as full as our loop, but the weekend arrival had not finished yet. The campground was hilly and some sites were not level (something to keep in mind for next time), therefore bicycling was a bit of a challenge, but the fun part was going downhill – WHEE.  Also many sites had fairly short camping pads (mentioned yesterday), with barely enough length to fit a medium-sized vehicle like ours plus the tow car. Laundry facilities were located in one of the buildings which housed the shower and restrooms and since there was only one washer that was working, we hoped their wouldn’t be a long line for laundry. We got one load of laundry done and when we got back to our campsite, a beautiful, brand-new silver Airstream had moved into the site right next to us. Two gentlemen were unloading and they introduced themselves as Tom & Gary from Ohio. We’re like, okay this looks promising…..
The high today was 71 degrees and it was humid & very cloudy. The rain and wind began later in the afternoon & was quite heavy by the time we went to bed. The thunder and lightning started soon thereafter; it lasted for hours was quite a display. The girls didn’t find the thunderstorm to be nearly as interesting as we did & they didn’t like the thunder at all. Surprisingly we didn’t lose power. Because of the storm the campground was quiet and though full, the only noise was from the thunder.
