MAINE TO MASSACHUSETTS.

TRAVEL DAY

From: Wolfe’s Neck Oceanfront Camping, Freeport, ME.

To:Spacious Skies Minuteman Campground, Littleton, MA.

Day 180 – It rained last night so we were glad we changed to sites to a less muddy location. The Cows, however, don’t care if it’s raining or not! We took a video of the cows being led to pasture this morning right by our campsite.

HAPPY TRAILS TO US…………

Day 1 – We’re on the road again after what seemed like an eternity! I have a notebook that I use to take notes while we’re traveling so we don’t forget anything for the Blog. Right after we departed, I opened it up to our last trip which began on August 30 and ended on October 17th of last year. My first note for that trip ironically said “2020, The COVID Year”. Who would’ve thought then that I would be starting this trip with “COVID, Year #2”. Sigh. But it is getting better! We are vaccinated, and we hope that you are, too.

MOO.

Day 3 – We were up at 6 a.m. this morning; 51 degrees & cloudy.  Today we traveled to Freeport, Maine.  We had a relaxing morning, since our check-in time at the next campground wasn’t until 1 p.m.  We went to the local Post Office in Bernardston to mail another bill; we had a survey done at the house in NY in order to get a variance for a deck to be built off our bedroom.  We had been notified that the final payment was due on the work.  Then we packed up, shuffled the girls (without a single complaint) into the bedroom for travel, and departed Traveler’s Woods Campground at 9:50 a.m.

WE’RE  BACK…………

Day 1 – We departed home in NY at 10:35 a.m. this morning.  It was a beautiful day with a comfortable temperature of 68 degrees and partly cloudy.  It rained the last couple of days and recently cooled off somewhat.  We had a warm summer and we’re glad it’s cooler & the humidity is dropping.  In the past we’d come home from one trip, unpack & do things around the house, keep appointments, and rush around to pack up and go out again as soon as possible.  This time we had plenty of time to prepare leisurely and it was so much more pleasant.  Hopefully, lesson learned. HEADING FOR HOME: MAINE, NH, MA.

Day 197 – BRRR! 22 degrees this morning at 6:45 a.m. We spent a leisurely morning at the campground – we were waiting for the Maine Beer Company in Freeport to open. They have a seasonal dark beer called “Mean Old Tom”, a Stout that Rob likes, and they had it in stock; Rob had been unsuccessful getting it at times in the past, so we wanted to stop by on our way out of town to get a couple of six-packs.

HEADING FOR HOME, MAINE.

Day 196 – At 6:45 a.m. this morning it was 32 degrees with snow flurries. We packed up for several days of traveling – the things you will need during those days of going from one campground to the next get packed away in accessible places for easy unpacking & repacking for the next day of travel. Everything from coffee-making supplies to toothbrushes to clothing changes to cat food, etc. gets put away towards the front of cupboards. The things you don’t use as often get placed in the back. At first when you’re doing this, it takes a lot of time, but after awhile you can whip right though packing & unpacking.

MOVIN’ TOWARDS MAINE.

Day 2 – We both slept very well, better than we had in weeks. The girls returned to their regular sleeping spots. Seems we’ve all immediately gotten back into the groove. It was 36 degrees this morning at 6:30 a.m.; we’re heading further north again. And the farther north we go, the less signs of spring we’ve seen. Back into late winter? Our travel goal today is Salisbury, MA, close to the New Hampshire border.

A NEW ADVENTURE BEGINS.

Day 1 – We left at 11:15 this morning, starting up Trip #6. We have big smiles on our faces now. Grin…….It was 47 degrees, windy & cloudy. The kitties knew where they were right away and didn’t seem to mind the drive; they just cuddled up all together and went to sleep on the bed. Our plan was to keep the drives down most days as much as possible. It’s easier on all of us that way.
