BOO! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Day 385 – It continued to rain last night and most of today. This morning we went to Whole Foods and bought a few supplies. Then we spent hours going shelf-by-shelf through the two Half-Price Books Stores in Louisville. One of our favorite pastimes.

Day 384 – As soon as the sun came up, people were packing up and leaving the campground this morning. It looks like it may be nice and quiet for the rest of our stay here. Maybe the girls will forgive us now.

To: Charlestown State Park, Charlestown, Indiana (IN).
Day 383 – It was 45 degrees at 6:55 a.m. this morning when we got up. Our drive today from the campground in Cave City was north on mostly interstate highways through Kentucky. We’ll be staying in Indiana (IN) north and a little east of Louisville, KY, across the Ohio River.

From: Paris Landing/Kentucky Lake KOA Holiday Campground, Buchanan, TN.
To: Singing Hills RV Park and Campground, Cave City, Kentucky.
Day 382 – At 8 a.m. it was 47 degrees out and partly cloudy, no wind. We departed the KOA Campground at 10:20 a.m. We drove northeast from the campground and some of the trip was in Tennessee; some of it was in Kentucky (KY).

Day 381 – Late to get up this morning, we didn’t get out of the campground until about 11 a.m. It was a beautiful, sunny day. We got gas in the Honda and then headed out for an exploratory drive.

Day 380 – It was sunny today with a cooler high of 62 degrees. Supposed to be low 40’s tonight. After running an errand in town this morning, we drove to the Tennessee NWR’s Big Sandy Unit. It wasn’t located far from our campground.

Day 379 – We didn’t go anywhere today; we had plenty to do here at the campground. When the storms are gone, colder weather is supposed to come in. We were busy today: laundry and cooking, but that frees up our next couple of days when the weather will be nicer. We did enjoy the time at home with the lazy cats.

To: Paris Landing/Kentucky Lake KOA Holiday Campground, Buchanan, TN.
Day 378 – At 7 a.m. this morning it was 55 degrees and cloudy. The girls were not happy about leaving, and truth be told, neither were we. This campsite always feels like home to us.

Day 377 – Today was our last day at Mingo NWR, for this trip anyway. It was overcast with little sun and it was quite windy. The high today was 79 degrees. No migrating waterfowl. But we saw other wildlife, like our other two days here.

Day 376 – Today was a lot like yesterday except we took a different Mingo National Wildlife Refuge Auto Tour route. Today the drive took us up into the hills of the Ozarks where there were a couple of lakes, rather than yesterday’s drive which traveled around the fields that are usually flooded during the fall when waterfowl are expected to arrive.
