TRAVEL DAY
From: Paris Landing/Kentucky Lake KOA Holiday Campground, Buchanan, TN.
To: Singing Hills RV Park and Campground, Cave City, Kentucky.
Day 382 – At 8 a.m. it was 47 degrees out and partly cloudy, no wind. We departed the KOA Campground at 10:20 a.m. We drove northeast from the campground and some of the trip was in Tennessee; some of it was in Kentucky (KY).
The scenery was similar between the two states, but that will change as we get farther north into KY and closer to Louisville – horse country. The roads were in good condition and traffic wasn’t bad except for brief times driving through the bigger cities. A week or two ago, fall colors would’ve been brighter; now much was past peak. We found TN to be beautiful and we already know KY is, too.
We will be spending tonight in KY, then tomorrow we’ll drive through the rest of Kentucky and cross the Ohio River into Indiana. My daughter, Pam, lives in Louisville, KY and we’ll be visiting her and the grand-doggies. We arrived at Singing Hills RV Park and Campground in Cave City, KY at 1:20 p.m. It was 69 degrees and mostly sunny. We’ll be here for one night. We stayed at this campground once before, in late March, 2018. The owners are very nice and the Park is quiet and extremely well maintained. The location of the campground is close to Mammoth Cave National Park, which we will visit sometime, just not this trip. There’s also plenty of other tourist attractions here.
The high today was 72 degrees. We relaxed and caught up on a couple of things this afternoon. The girls didn’t complain much today on the drive, probably because the roads were in good shape. And they immediately settled in once we got here.
