ABOUT SINGING HILLS RV PARK AND CAMPGROUND IN CAVE CITY, KY: We stayed at this campground once before, after leaving Pam’s in Louisville, and we are staying here again this trip because it was a good stopover point before or after traveling to the Louisville area. This is a privately-owned campground, and the owners are extremely nice. The campground is kept immaculately clean and well maintained. They have rules about smoking and noise. It’s nice and quiet here.
There are 44 campsites which includes 2 tent sites and one group tenting site. They offer full hook-ups. The campsites range from small to quite large with many being pull throughs. There is a dump station, a bath house, a propane refill station, an office, a trash dumpster, picnic tables & fire pits at each campsite, and there is a pond for catch & release fishing. There is plenty to do in this area, the first being Mammoth Cave National Park nearby. There are other caves and caverns: Diamond Caverns and Crystal Onyx Cave. There are Zip Lines, Horseback Riding, a Safari Park, a Fright Museum, a Dinosaur Museum, an Old West Town, and something called Kentucky Down Under which advertises caves and kangaroos…….
The first time we were here we had site #37, a campsite by itself on a hill overlooking the fishing pond. They were almost completely full and we had no reservations. We both had caught nasty colds when visiting my sister in St. Louis, MO. After we gave THE COLD to Pam, we left Louisville and stayed cooped up in the RV for 3 nights at this campground to recover. This time we were driving from Kansas to Missouri to Tennessee, on our way to see Pam. We thought of this campground and wanted to visit it again. We were assigned site #28 which wasn’t as private as previously when we visited, but they weren’t very busy and this is where they wanted to put us. It was still a great stopover place and we will stay here again (and actually do some exploring around here). Check in time is not advertised. Check out time is 11 a.m. We got a 10% discount with the Good Sam Club card and paid $39.60 for one night.
