MINGO – 2.
Day 376 – Today was a lot like yesterday except we took a different Mingo National Wildlife Refuge Auto Tour route. Today the drive took us up into the hills of the Ozarks where there were a couple of lakes, rather than yesterday’s drive which traveled around the fields that are usually flooded during the fall when waterfowl are expected to arrive.
We did see a group of Canada Geese and several Pied-Billed Grebes that were hanging around the Geese, but certainly this was much less than the normal waterfowl we see. Normally when we drive the Hill Auto Tour we see Bald Eagles and lots of Hawks. We saw no Eagles and a brief Hawk. But we were close to one of the most beautiful Owls we’ve ever encountered, and that was fantastic! We have seen no Deer; that’s odd. Who knows what we’ll see tomorrow?! The high today was 75 degrees and it was fairly windy and partly cloudy.

Gorgeous owl!!!
