MINGO – 3.
Day 377 – Today was our last day at Mingo NWR, for this trip anyway. It was overcast with little sun and it was quite windy. The high today was 79 degrees. No migrating waterfowl. But we saw other wildlife, like our other two days here.
We didn’t see many people today. Yesterday there were more people driving around. We finally saw one Deer in the distance – it’s been strange this year. More Snakes crossing the road, another young Raccoon, Turtles, a few Raptors, Wood Ducks, and other birds. We’ll try a different time of year next visit – we used to come in the Spring and there were plenty of birds then.

Tomorrow we travel to northwestern Tennessee, driving through more of Missouri, a little of Kentucky, and finally settling at a KOA for four nights. We’ll be visiting Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge, Big Sandy Unit. Maybe they’ll have lots of wildlife for us to see there. This visit to Lake Wappopello State Park was our 5th time camping here. It continues to be one of our favorite Parks, and site #41 is still our favorite campsite.
