Day 170 – At 7:30 this morning it was cloudy and 50 degrees. This time of year, temperatures here don’t change much from morning to night. Rob got a close-up picture of a Robin from the RV’s steps.

Tuesday, March 29
TRAVEL DAY
From: Alfred A. Loeb State Park, near Brookings, OR.
To: Quosatana National Forest Service Campground, near Gold Beach, OR.
Day 169 – When we got up this morning around 8 a.m., it was cloudy and breezy, 54 degrees. We are headed north along the coast today to one of our favorite campgrounds from our last trip in 2017. The girls huddled together asking why we had to leave.



Monday, March 28
VIRGIN MYRTLE FOREST.
Day 168 – It rained all night and was a bit muddy out this morning. This Park was very quiet last night. There are very few campers here. Rob took a walk with his camera. He wanted to check out the protected Myrtle forest in the campground. There are some magnificent old trees here.

TRAVEL DAY
From: Panther Flat Campground, Smith River National Recreation Area, Gasquet, CA.
To:Alfred A. Loeb State Park, near Brookings, OR.
Day 167 – It was sunny and 45 degrees when we got up this morning. Today we’ll be leaving the California Redwoods and moving on to the Oregon Redwoods. There was no dump station at Panther Flat and there’ll be no dump station at our next campground. Our drive will be delayed a little because we’ll be stopping along the way to dump tanks at a dump station at a rest area in Brookings, OR


Friday, March 25
THE MAJESTIC REDWOODS.
Day 165 – Last night when Rob was attempting to upload yesterday’s pictures to the blog post, we discovered that we didn’t have enough signal for an internet connection. Therefore, unless the signal picks up, we won’t be able to post the blog until we leave here. The way things stand now, it will probably be Sunday or Monday before we can send the blog out.

A SCENIC DRIVE.
Day 166 – At 7:45 a.m. this morning it was sunny and 44 degrees. We don’t get a lot of sun at the campground because there are so many trees, but it’s still beautiful as it filters through the greenery.

TRAVEL DAY
From: Riverwalk RV Park, Fortuna, CA – Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
To:Panther Flat Campground, Smith River National Recreation Area, Gasquet, CA – Howland Hill Scenic Drive, Redwood National & State Parks.
Day 164 – We were up early this morning, really looking forward to our next days of camping. We will be near the CA/OR border at some of the most beautiful scenery that California has to offer. We’re returning to do the absolutely most scenic redwood drive and hike, and in different locations, some of the most beautiful areas in California.


Wednesday, March 23
BEAUTIFUL NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.
Day 163 – We spent the day driving to some of our favorite places in this area. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to visit the Humboldt Botanical Gardens, which was really nice the last time we were here.

Day 162 – Today just happens to be the cats 8th birthday, and it’s been the most wonderful eight years! Happy Birthday to our babies! Long may you ride with us.


Monday, March 21
TRAVEL DAY
From: Happy Time RV Park, Dunnigan, CA.
To: Bushay Army Corps of Engineers Campground, Lake Mendocino Recreation Area, Ukiah, CA.
Day 161 – Today is a travel day and it will be another one-night stopover. We departed Happy Time at 10:25 a.m. It was 63 degrees, sunny, and quite windy. Not too windy to travel, though. We arrived at our destination at 1:20 p.m. after stops for gas and propane in the RV and for a lunch break.
