Day 170 – At 7:30 this morning it was cloudy and 50 degrees. This time of year, temperatures here don’t change much from morning to night. Rob got a close-up picture of a Robin from the RV’s steps.

TRAVEL DAY
From: Alfred A. Loeb State Park, near Brookings, OR.
To: Quosatana National Forest Service Campground, near Gold Beach, OR.
Day 169 – When we got up this morning around 8 a.m., it was cloudy and breezy, 54 degrees. We are headed north along the coast today to one of our favorite campgrounds from our last trip in 2017. The girls huddled together asking why we had to leave.

Day 37 – The girls are settled on the dashboard on their blankets in the sun. We decided not to leave here yet. We’ll stay another day. What else is new, LOL. We were up around 8 a.m., 42 degrees, partly cloudy. There’s really no reason to leave until we have to unhook everything & drive to dump anyway.

GOOD DAY SUNSHINE.
Day 36 – Beginning of Week 6. Yawn. It’s so nice here. We did decide to pay for two more nights; we’re not leaving until tomorrow. We got up a little before 8 a.m. this morning, 40 degrees & sunny. We plan to just stay here & hang out today, take a bike ride, hike a trail & go down to the River. A couple more campers arrived yesterday; I think we’re up to 8 in the 2 loops including the campground host. Much too crowded, LOL.

Day 35 – We were up at 8 a.m. The girls were maniacs this morning. 40 degrees out, sunny. Birds everywhere, hopping around on the ground eating bugs. We had paid for 2 nights when we got here. We’ve decided to stay longer, at least one night, maybe two. Next time we’re out we’ll go over and pay for one night at least until we make up our minds. Got some biking, hiking and birding to do yet.

WILD RIVER.
Day 34 – We got up at 7:10 a.m. We have no electricity, water, or sewer at our site. (We do have batteries & a generator & big holding tanks.) We have no phone & internet connections. What we do have is tons of birds, turkeys, and deer at this Park. The trees are extremely healthy and beautiful. Our site has trees & bushes surrounding it but not so close in that we don’t have sunlight – this thrills the girls & they are spending their time watching the birds from various sunny locations throughout the RV. We have a private grassy area behind the RV, and weather permitting, we’ll put out the chairs. Very nice.

Day 33 – We decided to pack-up & leave, go to a different campground, one of the places we visited Wednesday that’s further up river. It was still raining and a bit windy when we arrived at Quosatana National Forest Service Campground, by the Rogue River, about 30 minutes above our previous campground. It was a narrow, winding road – wouldn’t want to do that in the RV every day. We drove thru & picked site #40, were all set up by 12:30 p.m., light rain & 55 degrees.
