Day 111 – We decided to stay another day. We’d paid for three nights but we weren’t quite finished with this place, so we paid for another night. Today was warm and there was full sun with no wind. The high today was almost 77 degrees. It was a good day to go see the petroglyphs.
Day 110 – As previously mentioned, Cathie & Pete are camping near us. Pete is a funny dog, and he constantly cracks us up. Night before last we were sitting in the tent, Cathie was visiting, and Pete was inside her trailer tucked away in his bed.
Day 109 – Desert camping is interesting. We’re in the middle of nowhere and it’s mostly flat land with some hills in the distance. Talk about big skies! No towns of any size are visible. You can see 360 degrees around you. It’s just us and the other campers, no one else as far as you can see.

Day 108 – At 7:30 a.m. this morning it was 43 degrees and sunny. We are headed to a new campground to meet our friend, Cathie and her dog, Pete, spend some time catching up – and also to check out the petroglyphs.
Day 107 – It was 44 degrees this morning when we got up, no wind and sunny. After our coffee and morning routine, we drove to Maricopa for a couple of grocery items. We’d expected to consider ourselves lucky to even find a grocery store. Surprise, Maricopa turned out to be a city of more than 58,000 people, and we had our choice of stores. We even got sandwiches from Jersey Mike’s.
Day 106 – It was 41 degrees this morning and sunny when we woke up. Rob has been reading hundreds of pages of camera manual booklets. Yawn. I’ve been alternatively napping, reading, and repeat. We still like it here; it’s warm & quiet. Maybe tomorrow we’ll traipse into the closest town and try to find some quart-size baggies at a store, if there is one. These problems are overwhelming. Grin.
Day 105 – We liked it here so much that this morning we checked future availability of this campsite and saw no one was reserving it until January 27, so we grabbed the next two nights, too. The high today was 66 degrees with full sun. We just had a few chores today, not much at all. We spent most of the afternoon sitting outside – didn’t even need the screened tent because there were so few bugs. The girls loved having the windows open and the warm sunlight coming in. We’re all just being lazy!
Day 104 – We woke up this morning looking forward to getting out of Dodge, or should we say “away from cities and crowds”. At 7:45 a.m. it was 43 degrees (warmer) and partly cloudy with some wind. We watched out the front of the RV as people walking dogs passed by, and one sweet older man with cats in a cat stroller went by a couple of times chanting love songs to the cats to reassure them. So cute. Lots of RVs left, weekend over for them, I guess. Changing of the guard: one leaves and another takes its place.
Day 103 – It was colder today than yesterday, it even rained a little while squally winds blew through the campground. Today was another busy day, but once we have spent the time and money to fully stock up again, we should be good for awhile. We had not done major grocery shopping other than the weekly essentials since we left home in October.

Day 102 – The low last night was 32 degrees. We got up at 7:15 a.m. and it was sunny. According to the tracking information, our overdue mail (5 packages) were enroute to the Sierra Vista post office. The shipment contained our new camera equipment, so we were nervous that one or more packages would not come (they were due Wednesday p.m.) before we had to leave this campground.
