MARICOPA, AZ.
Day 107 – It was 44 degrees this morning when we got up, no wind and sunny. After our coffee and morning routine, we drove to Maricopa for a couple of grocery items. We’d expected to consider ourselves lucky to even find a grocery store. Surprise, Maricopa turned out to be a city of more than 58,000 people, and we had our choice of stores. We even got sandwiches from Jersey Mike’s.

Day 106 – It was 41 degrees this morning and sunny when we woke up. Rob has been reading hundreds of pages of camera manual booklets. Yawn. I’ve been alternatively napping, reading, and repeat. We still like it here; it’s warm & quiet. Maybe tomorrow we’ll traipse into the closest town and try to find some quart-size baggies at a store, if there is one. These problems are overwhelming. Grin.

Day 105 – We liked it here so much that this morning we checked future availability of this campsite and saw no one was reserving it until January 27, so we grabbed the next two nights, too. The high today was 66 degrees with full sun. We just had a few chores today, not much at all. We spent most of the afternoon sitting outside – didn’t even need the screened tent because there were so few bugs. The girls loved having the windows open and the warm sunlight coming in. We’re all just being lazy!

Day 104 – We woke up this morning looking forward to getting out of Dodge, or should we say “away from cities and crowds”. At 7:45 a.m. it was 43 degrees (warmer) and partly cloudy with some wind. We watched out the front of the RV as people walking dogs passed by, and one sweet older man with cats in a cat stroller went by a couple of times chanting love songs to the cats to reassure them. So cute. Lots of RVs left, weekend over for them, I guess. Changing of the guard: one leaves and another takes its place.
