HEADING FOR HOME: MAINE, NH, MA.

Day 197 – BRRR! 22 degrees this morning at 6:45 a.m. We spent a leisurely morning at the campground – we were waiting for the Maine Beer Company in Freeport to open. They have a seasonal dark beer called “Mean Old Tom”, a Stout that Rob likes, and they had it in stock; Rob had been unsuccessful getting it at times in the past, so we wanted to stop by on our way out of town to get a couple of six-packs.

HEADING FOR HOME, MAINE.

Day 196 – At 6:45 a.m. this morning it was 32 degrees with snow flurries. We packed up for several days of traveling – the things you will need during those days of going from one campground to the next get packed away in accessible places for easy unpacking & repacking for the next day of travel. Everything from coffee-making supplies to toothbrushes to clothing changes to cat food, etc. gets put away towards the front of cupboards. The things you don’t use as often get placed in the back. At first when you’re doing this, it takes a lot of time, but after awhile you can whip right though packing & unpacking.

MAINE.

Tues., 11/5, Day 193:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TED C.  SEE YOU & CAROL SOON & WE’LL TOAST TO YOU THEN!  The weather was bad today with the winds & rain. We didn’t go out but got things done indoors. Making plans to leave soon – it looks from the weather forecasts that snow & very cold temperatures will arrive next week. Rob looked into airline tickets for California so he can see his mom. And since he was feeling better, he changed the oil & filter for the RV and fixed the macerator pump connections due to overheating. I worked on getting the budget & expenditures ready for spreadsheet entry. We need to get a handle on our Canadian expenses after dealing with the monetary conversions, to see if a trip south might be feasible this winter. Meanwhile, it was election day! Did you vote?

MAINE (trail pics)

Fri., 11/1, Day 189:  My goodness. It is November already!  The recent days, beginning with today, have been somewhat a blur for me. I came down with a cold, not a big deal, but once these things go into my head, I don’t know what’s going on. The lack of energy dropped my activity level from quite low to zero. It was rainy & quite windy all day; a couple of times the power flickered on & off but luckily it did not stay off. The lows & highs were in the mid-40’s to mid-50’s.
