NEWFOUNDLAND – TWILLINGATE MISCELLANEOUS.

Day 84 – We slept in this morning and hung around the RV until about noon. It rained during the night and it was very windy. It had stopped raining this morning but was still windy. Last night we tried to make a reservation at Notre Dame Provincial Park, but could not get a signal for long enough to do that. We were able to check availability though. All sites with hook-ups were booked. Only one of the sites we’d marked as a favorite was available for that weekend. And we couldn’t get online. Sigh.

NEWFOUNDLAND – ICEBERGS IN JULY?

Day 83 – The wind picked up last night & it rained hard. So much for the beautiful weather! The wind was increasing this morning and it was cloudy with light rain, so we thought it would be a good day to go campground scouting. Although we are set for this coming weekend at Twillingate, and next week during the week on Fogo Island, we’ll be needing a place to stay the following weekend. When their short summer season is over in September in NF, we should have no problem again obtaining campsites.

NEWFOUNDLAND – SOUTH OF TWILLINGATE ISLAND.

Day 81 – Question of the day:  Do Dogs Moan? We are cat people. For all you dog people – do dogs moan?  We ask because this morning the fog horn was going off, but in addition to that forlorn noise, there was another which followed. It really sounded like a dog moaning – and we are surrounded by dogs. Everyone around here has a dog. OR alternatively, is someone being held captive in an RV nearby?

NEWFOUNDLAND – SEARCHING FOR OUR NEXT CAMPGROUND.

Day 78 – At 7:30 this morning it was 57 degrees and sunny. It looked like another great day. It’s the weekend & this campground is full. Tomorrow we’d planned to leave here, but we didn’t know which way to go – another peninsula north & west of us, or one south & west of us. Both areas would be visited eventually but we are approaching peak summer weekends.

WELCOME HOME, GAIL!! We are sure Keely is doing the happy-doggy dance today!

NEWFOUNDLAND – ROAD TO THE SHORE.

Day 77 – We were up by 8 a.m. after lots of crazy antics from the girls. It was 47 degrees & partly cloudy & NOT raining or foggy. We left at 10:25 a.m. for a drive, a new peninsula we’d hadn’t explored before. It was SUNNY and 60 degrees.

ERNIE!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL.

NEWFOUNDLAND – HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN.

Day 76 – It rained all last night and most of today. Much cooler here, it was 43 degrees this morning when we got up & it didn’t even get up to 50 degrees today. We stayed in, caught up on some paperwork, did laundry at the campground laundry facilities, baked a loaf of bread, and cooked a Swedish Casserole, enough to last for many nights. There was no cell/internet signal. Getting lots of reading done. And that’s about all to say for today……
