NEWFOUNDLAND – FRENCHMAN’S COVE TO GANDER.
Day 75 – At 6:30 this morning it was 53 degrees & partly cloudy, but it promised to be another pretty day. But we’re leaving this southern peninsula for a northern one. We figure if we are inundated with fog & rain again, we’ll just pack up and go back down south.

NEWFOUNDLAND – THE LAST OF THE BURIN PENINSULA.
Day 74 – It was cloudy this morning with some wind. At 8 a.m. it was 57 degrees out. We wanted to visit the remaining little harbor towns today & were hoping the sun would come out. By early afternoon it alternated between hazy & sunny. Our pictures would’ve been better with full-on sunlight, but the scenery was amazing nonetheless.

NEWFOUNDLAND – LITTLE HARBOR TOWNS.
Day 73 – At 7:15 this morning it was sunny and 53 degrees. A gorgeous day, a little windy, but basically perfect. On our way out for a drive east and north, we stopped to renew this campsite for a couple more days; we like it here, the girls are relaxed & happy, and the weather has been great.
NEWFOUNDLAND – GRAND BANK & FORTUNE.
Day 72 – We slept in this morning, lazybones. It was 57 degrees, a little windy, a little foggy, and hazy at 8:30 a.m. We hung around the campground visiting with the girls & relaxing until after lunch. The sun had come out & it was warming up. We left about 1 p.m. to go south to visit the Provincial Seamen’s Museum in Grand Bank.

Day 71 – Partly cloudy this morning & a little hazy, 54 degrees at 7:30 a.m. Rob went kayaking to a different area of the Bay this morning, also encountering protective Gulls & their chicks. Even though the weekend is here, we still don’t have people camped around us; it has been nice & quiet. We packed our lunches & headed out for more exploring.

Day 70 – It was 50 degrees this morning & sunny when we got up. We decided that a little kayaking was in order. I hadn’t attempted kayaking since this thing with my knee began last January. I figured once I was tucked into my kayak, all would be fine; but it was the getting in and out of the kayak that had me worried.
NEWFOUNDLAND – BONAVISTA PENINSULA TO BURIN PENINSULA.
Day 69 – HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY! We got up at 7:15 a.m. It was 48 degrees with fog & rain – what else is new. Hoping to see better weather for an extended period of time, we left the Bonavista Peninsula at 10:40; 52 degrees with continued fog & rain. Questions of the day – will we have an internet signal at the new campground, and will we see any sunlight?

NEWFOUNDLAND – YES, PLANS DO CHANGE.
Day 68 – Foggy and 51 degrees this morning at 8 a.m. It rained hard last night. We were able to look at the news this morning; it had been a long time. We’re better off not knowing. The ice is still melting in Greenland; the Japanese have begun whaling again. There is flesh-eating bacteria everywhere; four asteroids will collide with the Earth; a whole bunch of Democrats are running for President. Donald Trump is still Donald Trump.

Day 67 – It was quite windy last night with heavy rain & fog. Today we leave this wonderful place. At 9 a.m. this morning it was still raining and foggy; the wind had decreased some. We hope there are cell phone & internet connections at the next campground.

NEWFOUNDLAND – DEJA VU, TOTALLY FOGGED IN.
Day 66 – Today was several things to us: (1) another fogged in day – if there were whales in the Cove, and there probably are, we couldn’t see them; (2) it was our 39th anniversary (and we can’t think of a better place to be for that occasion) and (3) it’s Canada Day – Happy Canada Day! Rob made Espresso to start off our celebatory day.
