Day 76 – We woke to a storm with heavy rain and big wind gusts. Even the fishing boats aren’t going out. It’s warmish though at 60 degrees. We didn’t have a signal so did not have an updated weather report. Therefore there were a lot of puddles inside the RV where we’d left windows open. Oops! We’ll certainly stay inside until this clears up!
Day 75 – A foggy morning, the cats let us sleep in, their gift to us. About a half hour later, we heard the sound of Whales blowing in the Cove. They’d come close-in for breakfast. As the Whales arrived, the fog went out. How nice of all of them!
Day 74 – It felt cooler this morning at 60 degrees, especially during the gusts of wind. However, the wind did not stop the biting black flies as they circled around us outside while we were whale watching. We went whale watching? No, not from a boat tour – from the RV. This was soon after we got up. What a day!
Day 71 – We got up at 5 a.m., a lousy time to wake up but since we were awake anyway and we had one of our longer traveling days ahead of us, why not go ahead and get up. Yawn! It was 55 degrees and cloudy. Lockston Path Provincial Park was beginning to get more crowded and was a bit noisy last night as people that came in today and had settled in near us, cranked up their TV and turned their kids loose. The NL vacation season had begun; school let out the end of last week. We’ll now see a big difference in campsite availability.

Day 70 – There were some more things we could’ve done in the Bonavista/Trinity area, but the weather forecast called for a cloudy day. Since we’d spent the previous two days away from the girls and we had some chores that needed to be done, we decided to stay at the campsite today. As usual, it turned out the weather forecast was wrong. It was sunny & clear until 3:30 p.m. Thank goodness for that – we had a problem doing laundry at the campground and had to dry four loads of already-washed laundry the old fashioned way.
Day 69 – Well, we only were able to get Monday’s post out. This is what happens if we don’t keep up with the Blog daily. It’s now Thursday at almost 8 p.m. and we’ve been traveling to a new campsite most of the day. Below is the post from Tuesday, another busy day at the Bonavista Peninsula.
Day 66 – Today was several things to us: (1) another fogged in day – if there were whales in the Cove, and there probably are, we couldn’t see them; (2) it was our 39th anniversary (and we can’t think of a better place to be for that occasion) and (3) it’s Canada Day – Happy Canada Day! Rob made Espresso to start off our celebatory day.
NEWFOUNDLAND –WOODEN BOATS, A MINKE & A GANNET, AND A SUNSET.
Day 65 – Fog again this morning but it burned off quickly. You kinda wait with baited breath, will it stay or will it go. Rob walked amongst the rock walls to see his cairn. The sun was out when he came back.
Day 64 – It was still quite foggy this morning when we woke up. Without a signal, we have no weather forecasts. We were concerned that it would be another no-visibility day, but the fog began to burn off around 9 a.m. This is what the girls do on a foggy day (from yesterday).
Day 63 – We slept in this morning. It was fairly dark out, no sun due to extremely dense fog, so daylight did not get us up early. Neither did the kitties, although they tried hard; we ignored them until we couldn’t any longer. It was 47 degrees and we couldn’t even see the water below us due to the fog. This was around 8:30 a.m.
