LAST DAY ON THE BURIN PENINSULA.
Day 100 – It was 68 degrees this morning when we got up, raining and quite humid. The rain continued until 11 a.m. Throughout the day the temperature remained fairly steady, the sun came out, and the humidity level dropped. This was a day of catching up with chores plus getting ready to leave this campground tomorrow morning.

Day 99 – The low temperature was 63 degrees last night. We certainly picked the best day for a sunny drive yesterday. This morning it was humid with some clouds. We didn’t have to make the long drive back up to Parker’s Cove today after all. Wilson, the Scallop Man, called to let us know that “the Missus” would be in Marystown, {not too far from our campground), for an appointment and we could meet her there to pick up the Scallops. We were happy not to make the drive to Parker’s Cove.

Day 98 – The low last night was 61 degrees. We’ll take that! This morning it was sunny and beautiful. I think summer has finally arrived here. In a month will winter begin? Today we took a drive north, again taking advantage of the good weather.

Day 97 – The low last night was 64 degrees. The high today at the RV was 75 degrees. On our drive the high was 84 degrees once we were away from the ocean. A very nice day! This morning it was really overcast, but by 10 a.m. it had burned off. We took advantage of the weather and took a long drive along the coast from our campground south, along the bottom of the peninsula, then heading north and west back to our campground – a big loop.
A LITTLE EXPLORING.
Day 96 – At 7 a.m. this morning it was 69 degrees out and quite overcast. Last night, it rained & thundered so hard that it woke us up. The girls are all sleeping now; only Pixie remains a little unsettled. As soon as she realizes we aren’t traveling again today, the suspicious look on her face will disappear.

Day 95 – The partying when on during the night. We were very glad to leave this morning for a different campground. Although since it was a Sunday and many people were also packing up to leave, it was still overcrowded. ATV’s began roaring by on the road right behind our site before 9 a.m. People were beginning to flock to the beach and a Jet Ski was doing tricks as we were packing up. Back on the TCH, a road that traditionally has been in good shape, we looked at each other and each breathed a sigh of relief.

Day 74 – It was cloudy this morning with some wind. At 8 a.m. it was 57 degrees out. We wanted to visit the remaining little harbor towns today & were hoping the sun would come out. By early afternoon it alternated between hazy & sunny. Our pictures would’ve been better with full-on sunlight, but the scenery was amazing nonetheless.

NEWFOUNDLAND – LITTLE HARBOR TOWNS.
Day 73 – At 7:15 this morning it was sunny and 53 degrees. A gorgeous day, a little windy, but basically perfect. On our way out for a drive east and north, we stopped to renew this campsite for a couple more days; we like it here, the girls are relaxed & happy, and the weather has been great.
NEWFOUNDLAND – GRAND BANK & FORTUNE.
Day 72 – We slept in this morning, lazybones. It was 57 degrees, a little windy, a little foggy, and hazy at 8:30 a.m. We hung around the campground visiting with the girls & relaxing until after lunch. The sun had come out & it was warming up. We left about 1 p.m. to go south to visit the Provincial Seamen’s Museum in Grand Bank.

Day 71 – Partly cloudy this morning & a little hazy, 54 degrees at 7:30 a.m. Rob went kayaking to a different area of the Bay this morning, also encountering protective Gulls & their chicks. Even though the weekend is here, we still don’t have people camped around us; it has been nice & quiet. We packed our lunches & headed out for more exploring.
