Day 12 – The same ships are still here, the ones that were anchored across the Bay when we got here. We’re trying to figure out why they are just sitting there in a line-up in what looks to be the main channel. Google offers a couple of possibilities. More at 11……

Day 11– At 8 a.m. this morning it was sunny and 50 degrees. A gorgeous day. The water in the Bay was still, like glass. Canada Geese were noisily flying by in “V” formation. Looks like a good day to go out and explore.

Day 10 – Virginia is for lovers; that’s what the signs say. I don’t know about that, but it’s a nice State so far. The temperatures rose during the night and the wind increased. As of 7:30 a.m. it was 63 degrees & not raining yet. Sustained winds at 18 MPH with higher gusts. But not nearly as scary as it was in Maine because there is much less danger of a tree coming down on us. I feel like an old storm pro now after that experience. Winds are supposed to increase to 25 MPH with higher gusts & rain should begin around noon. We’re doing just fine.

Day 9 – Rob was up at 7:15 a.m. & I got up ½ hour later. It was sunny, low 30’s. Last night when Rob was outside waiting for the moon to come up, we could hear the horses whinnying in the campground. When the moon came up, it lit up the campground, but we still couldn’t see the horses. Today we move to Virginia. We haven’t yet camped in Virginia, so we’ll be able to add a sticker to the U.S. travel map on the RV.

Day 8 – Looks like a beautiful day today, 32 degrees, sunny, no wind at 7:30 a.m. Rob is instigating havoc as he tosses the kittie’s toys around the RV & they leap wildly to retrieve them. All except Java & me – too much activity for us.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS. PEACE TO ALL!
Day 7 – We got up a little before 8 a.m., sunny & 35 degrees. As of 11:00 no sign of the horses. The cats were in joyful little moods this morning – lots of sunlight on the dashboard.

T’WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE, NOT A CREATURE WAS STIRRING, NOT EVEN A MOUSE…….
Day 6 – Well, the mice were probably running around our house in NY since the kitties weren’t home & couldn’t terrorize them anymore! From what we saw on the home security feed this morning, it was snowing. A White Christmas for upstate NY? Here at Assateague, 41 degrees, foggy & cloudy at 7:15 a.m.

WILD HORSES.
Day 5 – We hadn’t decided where to go next until we saw Gail’s son, Shane, and he told us about Assateague Island National Seashore & showed us pictures of the wild horses running in the sand with the Atlantic Ocean behind them. Yep, we knew we had to go there. We got up at 8 a.m., 33 degrees & sunny. We leisurely packed up, dumped tanks, and departed Martinak State Park at 11:10 a.m. The girls just settled in right away; they’ve really adjusted to camping.

GOOD DAY SUNSHINE.
Day 4 – Sunny, the rain has stopped! 43 degrees at 8 a.m. Not only are the lighted trees for Christmas beautiful at this Park, but the moisture on the trees is glistening in the sunlight. We left for Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge around 10:30 a.m. The traffic was light for the Saturday before Christmas, but we took backroads anyway.
