Day 87 – It didn’t get down into the 30’s last night for a change; overcast & windy this morning around 8 a.m. Upper 40’s today, very cloudy all day & windy; We just hung around the RV with the cats. We were all feeling lazy, but tomorrow we’ll probably go out to the Deer River boat launch area & go kayaking, weather permitting.

Day 86 – Here Comes The Sun.
37 degrees last night & less clouds this morning at 8 a.m. Could this be a little sun peeking out & paying us a visit? Gracie & Java are a little irritable; maybe they’re getting stir crazy, too. Rob spent the morning with his coffee, the internet, & some maps – studying places where the flowing water might be less rough (we are not white-water kayakers). When I got up, he had a route all ready to show me which looked great & was not too far from the area we’d wanted to drive to anyway, around St. Regis Falls. We’ll drive over there, equipped with the kayak gear, just in case the weather & water are fine.
Day 85 – Dark clouds all around us at 6:30 a.m. this morning, 34 degrees but no rain, no snow & no wind. It’s the beginning of Week Thirteen. It would be really nice if it warmed up enough to sit outside by the River – hopefully by the end of the week we’ll be able to do that. There’s a Starling nest in the tree next to the RV with lots of activity; Pixie & Gracie are plastered to the window in excitement.
Day 84 – Snow And Hail???
We got up at 7 a.m. It was 34 degrees out and it was snowing lightly, but the snow wasn’t sticking to the ground. A bit windy & quite cold. Around 10:00 it started hailing, and as it began to collect on the RV windshield wipers, Pixie was fascinated, watching the hail as it fell. It was still snowing an hour later. The River rages on, no kayaking for us today! At this rate, not even a walk around the campground.

Day 83 – New campground, new adventures. We hated to leave Webster Park but we had made reservations at Riverside Campground in Brasher Falls, NY and it was time to move on. It was still raining when we got up, and it continued most of the day. We departed at 9:15 a.m., windy, raining & 40 degrees. When doing our pre-travel check of vehicles, we discovered one of the RV headlights wasn’t working. Most of our journey was going to be on smaller roads rather than the thruway, so we figured we’d find an auto parts store on the way.
Day 82 – Floods, Floods, & More Floods.
By 11 p.m. last night it was raining hard again, and according to this morning’s edition of the Lakeshore Flood Warning, this alert was supposed to continue for 3 days. The campsite next to us was flooding & we were on lakefront property at our site.

Day 81 – The Pied Piper of Webster Park.
Up at 6:30 a.m., still raining, 56 degrees. We packed up & headed out at 8:45 after dumping & getting fresh water for the next campground. Still not many people camping & we’re sure all the rain had something to do with it!
Day 80 – Rob & I woke up around 5:30 a.m. and saw the beginnings of a great sunrise outside the bedroom window. I went back to sleep and Rob watched as the sunrise continued, deciding it was going to be worth the trip outside to take pictures. Luna & Gracie were thrilled because this meant an early breakfast. 48 degrees with light rain.

Day 79 – 42 degrees at 6:30 a.m.; heavy clouds, windy and some rain during the night. We checked the weather forecast & it predicted no more rain until early tomorrow morning, partly sunny and a high of 54 degrees. We decided to stick around and enjoy the campground which still had very few campers.
Day 78 – Oh my goodness, it’s the beginning of Week Twelve; we’ll be going home soon. Time to start planning another trip, LOL. The high yesterday was 69 degrees but it’s not going to reach 50 degrees today. Feeling at home being in the North once again. We had a quiet night & had the heat on for the first time in months; it was 47 degrees at 8 a.m. this morning that was as warm as it got during the day.
